These titles I recommend. Based on what I have played and personal taste, in random order:

I'd still play Happy Wars if the damn servers worked.
Also, Section 8: Prejudice was a good Arcade game for a time. I think the MP is finally dead now though. Iron Brigade (Formerly Trenched) was pretty damn fun. |

A great list for those who want to be cheap with their MSP. I notice off the bat that just about every "old school" game or game that pays tribute to it has higher achievement difficulties.

For people that are into Retro games, Its listed in Xbox 360 Games and is called "Game Room" and you can buy atari games and play them in your arcade that you can customize how ever you want. Every game there costs only 240MSP so they are fairly cheap. I so far have River Raid, Pitfall, River Raid 2 and Nightstalker.l If your not into retro games I wouldn't recommend it but the Game Room is free.

What not to buy.. thank me later.
http://www.youtube.com/user/AcEInformers?feature=mhee These guys are friends of mine and they are awesome dudes... but they lack confidence. They really wanna start something good, and give good strong advise on games like "what not to buy" and really bad but "funny" games i ain't begging or anything, i'm just saying it would be wise to check them out and give them some support just so the have a reason to express their ideas to the gaming community and we all love a bit of healthy friendly advise on something we all love right? Peace!

This are the Must-buys from what I've played:
- The Walking Dead - Trials Evolution - Pinball FX 2 (if you're a pinball fan) - Castle Crashers - Happy Wars

Avoid Deadlight unless you catch it on a really good sale. Game is under 4 hours long and really not that great. I realize it's appeal because it's a zombie game but it is not even close to worth 1200pts. Worst 15 dollars I've spent on a game in a very very long time.
Also maybe think about skipping Guardians of Middle-earth. Great MOBA style game and I definitely would love to see more of them but this game is borderline broken...the online rarely works without disconnecting you and not counting everything you did that game. The developer keeps releasing new characters but give absolutely no support to the many issues that plague this game. It's a real shame because when the game actually works properly, it's a ton of fun. Last edited by Gackt; 02-02-2013 at 04:25 PM. |

Having played a decent number of XBLA games, I've only found one that's not really worthwhile: War World. Sure it has giant robots that can blow stuff up, but so does Armored Core. Plus, War World is kind of boring. There are much better $5 games for XBLA.
As for games that are worth buying, Minecraft, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Torchlight, Doom, Doom 2, Renegade Ops, Magic 2013 and Geometry Wars are great purchases. There are many more out there, and I'm gonna play on until I find more that are worth your money

I've still got about 2000 MSP from ages ago, never really bothered buying much from the Arcade section. I did get Minecraft though, and spent a fair few hours playing that. Think I'll spend a few points and get some new games.
This is a great thread by the way, saves me having to trawl through all the garbage in the Arcade section when I can just look here and see what the best choices are. |

Minecraft has the best value for money. Other games like Trials HD & Evolution are also fantastic XBLA games, And probably the most unique and weird XBLA game, Super Meat Boy!

but I would recommend you gamers to try if not done already.

Limbo is an awesome arcade game if you like platformers. Ifyou enjoy slapping your meat around (giggidy) Super Meat Boy is super fun times, although it's a very tough platformer that will have you screaming at your TV! I also really enjoyed Warhammer 40K: Kill Team as a duel-sticker shooter.
