Introduction

Rayman Jungle Run is a runner-style game where you jump, fly, climb, and punch your way through various jungle-themed obstacles. Rayman is constantly in motion, which you cannot alter. Instead, you are able to control jumping, flying and other movements. This seemingly over simplified control scheme actually plays very well, on touch devices that is. Using a mouse and keyboard, you can basically consider completing this game impossible. Within each of the game's 50 levels, there are 100 Lums to be collected, a feat that will require many attempts, perfect timing on all movements, and a bit of luck. Currently the game is listed at $2.99 in the Windows 8 Store.

Step 1: Complete all 50 levels collecting all the Lums

Start from the beginning of the game and complete each level with 100% of the Lums collected (earn the red tooth). Keep playing each level over and over until you get all the Lums in one go of the level. Then, move on to the next.

Step 2: Collect 3600 Lums in one go....

After completing Step 1, you should be quite familiar with the game. Now comes the hardest task imaginable. You will need to collect a total of 3600 Lums in one run of the game, without dying or restarting a single time. In total, there are 4500 Lums (100 per level), meaning you need to complete the game without dying and having collected at least 80% of the Lums.

Conclusion

Rayman Jungle Run is quite a fun game, but the rather extreme nature of one of the achievements means almost no one will be able to complete it, except for the most skilled and dedicated players. Regardless, a modest 155http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png can be earned somewhat easily in 5-10 hours, depending on skill.

Collect 3600 Lums! Each and every one of them!

These achievements are all related to collecting Lums throughout the game. Lums are the yellow bee-like creatures that you gather with Rayman by getting close to or touching them as you move through the level. There are 100 Lums to be collected in each level, and 45 levels in the game with Lums (the 5 bonus levels dont have any Lums). This means that there are actually 4500 total Lums up for grabs, but you only need to collect 3600 for the last of these achievements (or 80% of the total number of Lums in the game). However, you will need to collect each and every Lum (i.e. get a perfect on every level) to unlock some other achievements, so focus on that foremost. Each unique Lum will only be counted towards your total once, meaning you cannot just keep replaying the same level to work towards these achievements. Essentially, the game just sums your highest Lum total on each level for the count.

See "Fake Smile" for links to videos containing the locations of all the Lums.

Collect 3600 Lums in ONE run, without dying, without retrying! Simply impossible...

These achievements require that you collect the specified amount of Lums in a single playthrough, without dying and without retrying. These will provide the biggest challenge in the game, especially reaching 3600 Lums. Remember, there is actually 4500 total Lums in the game, so you technically only need to get 80% of them. There is no simple method to earning these. It will take tons of practice and dedication to be able to not only complete a flawless run of the game, but also collect nearly all of the Lums scattered throughout. A few tricks that could potentially make "Lums Survival" (and all of these achievements, more possible:

  1. If you have a second Windows 8 device (or have also purchased the game on Windows Phone 8), it is possible to play through the game a level ahead on the other device. That way you can become familiar with the level you are about to play. When you feel you are practiced enough and know the upcoming level and how to get the Lums and not die, get to it on the device you are working towards the achievement on.
  2. Similarly to #1, but not nearly as effective, if you dont have another device to play on simultaneously, use the video linked in "Fake Smile" to memorize what level is coming up next.

Some vital, though likely obvious, tips:

  • When attempting these achievements, it is best to start on Level 1 of the Jump World (first world) to give yourself the easiest levels and the most amount of potential Lums to collect in one go.
  • After you complete each level, be sure to hit the continue button to automatically move on to the next level. Never hit restart at the end of the level or during the level (the button in the top left corner).
  • As mentioned in the achievement descriptions, you must also not die. Therefore, it is not wise to take unnecessary risks to get a few Lums.
  • Try to collect the red hearts if you can. These will allow you take an additional hit before dying.
  • These achievements will not unlock until the end of the level, so if you reach the milestones, be sure not to die before completing the level or the achievements will not pop.
  • There is no in-game counter for this achievement. You must manually keep track of your total (at end of each level, it will show you how many Lums you collected).
  • You only play through the 9 regular levels of each of the 5 worlds. The bonus levels are automatically excluded (thank god!).
  • It is okay to pause the game and even let your screen lock on your computer. It will not void the achievement. However, you cannot return to the menu in any way.

Good luck! Earning the last of these achievements is quite a tough feat. Only about 3% of players ever managed to do it (according to the WP8 and W8 statistics on TA).

Complete Mister DEATH's dental work with 40 teeth... Seriously... good luck!

This achievement requires that you collect 40 of Mister DEATH's teeth out of the 50 that are possible. This will unlock along your path to collecting every Lum in the game.

See "Fake Smile" for more information.

Complete Mister DEATH's dental work with all 10 teeth from World 5. Insaaaaaane!

Mister DEATH's teeth are earned by collecting all 100 Lums on a level, one tooth for each specific level you do this on. For these achievements, you will need to make perfect runs of all 45 levels with Lums in the game (9 on each World). Also, you will need to complete the bonus mission in each world, which unlocks when you get 5 other teeth in that world. The bonus missions have no Lums but are quite difficult because there are so many obstacles to avoid that can kill you. Completing the bonus mission will unlock the tenth and final tooth of each world. There is one achievement related to each world, as well as one for earning 40 total teeth. Just keep with it. Overall the levels are not that difficult, but it will take a bit of practice and repetition to collect all 100 Lums in a single run of each level. If you are having trouble finding all the Lums in a level, or figuring out how to get them all, see the video below for a playthrough of all Lums being collected in all the levels (thanks for YouTube user WikiGameGuides for the video!). Go to the actual Youtube page to be able to skip through to the correct timestamps automatically for all the levels.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVguFJu4ZjE]World 5[/ame]

The levels can be done separately with any number of retries and deaths. You can check which levels and in what worlds you have gotten the teeth from by going to the world and/or level selection screens (red crystal-like objects on top of the world/level icons).

10 consecutive retries on the same level! You can’t stand losing, can you?

20 consecutive retries on the same level! Never back down my friend!

These achievements will certainly come without trying while attempting to perfect some of the later levels to earn Mister DEATH's teeth. However, if you want to get them out of the way immediately, just keep repeatedly hitting the restart button (top left corner of screen) until both of these achievements pop. NOTE: Both hitting restart and dying count as "restarts," so completing the requirements for "Survivor!" will unlock both of these achievements related to restarting as well.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2625/+9mGbQ==.jpg Survivor! - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

You died 20 times in the same level! Maybe you should go outside, relax, and try again later!

This achievement will most certainly come without trying, probably during one of the bonus missions, where frequent death is a given. However, if you want to get it out of the way early, load up level 3-1. Progress through normally, then you will come to an air vent. Don't jump and just fall down into the abyss. You will restart at the beginning of the level. Rinse and repeat until the achievement unlocks.

Does the addition of Worlds 6 and 7 make the 3600 Lums Achievement easier? Seems like it add a lot of margin for error Lum-wise, as long as you can stay alive into the sixth and seventh worlds.

Nice call. They do in theory make a greater margin of error for missed Lums in some sense, but I dont really see this overall making the achievement any easier. I havent heard of anyone that completed all 5 worlds without dying, but not having enough Lums for the achievement.
