Introduction

Monopoly Millionaire is nothing more than a fresh coat of paint with design elements to make the game quicker to complete than its forefather. All of the original game mechanics are here, but some added additions make the game's pace much quicker and completion take far less than the typical full evening. A winner is now determined when a single player reaches 1 or 2 million dollars, depending on what you choose (or when only one player remains not bankrupt). The board is smaller and payouts are higher. The game features single player and also pass-and-play multiplayer. Currently the game is listed at $4.99 in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 1: Miscellaneous achievements (17 for 160 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

Start out by playing all games to 2 million dollars in 4-player pass-and-play multiplayer as this will give you the best chance for earning the achievements, as the achievements will pop if ANY player meets the requirements. This will also make it much easier to earn many of the achievements. It should take you 5 games or less to earn all of these.

Step 2: Rolling doubles achievements (3 for 40 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

This is the most annoying part of the game. There are three semi-luck-based achievements that relate to rolling doubles with the dice. Two of them are fairly easy to get, but one could take a bit longer. I call them "semi-luck-based" because there is a trick that you can employ to take the luck out of the rolls a bit, which I highly suggest you do. See the Guide for more information.

Conclusion

Monopoly Millionaire is a very easy completion, as long as you are a bit of a lucky person and follow this guide. The miscellaneous achievements can all be knocked out in pass-and-play multiplayer. It is possible to complete the game in around 1 hour, but it is more likely to take 2 or 3 hours.

GUIDE

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (17 for 160 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 17 achievements are related to completing miscellaneous requirements or tasks and can be obtained in single player or pass-and-play multiplayer. When in pass-and-play multiplayer, the achievements will unlock when ANY of the players meet the requirements.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/+6+icA==.jpg Everybody Starts Somewhere - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Buy your first property.

Simply land on a property and choose to buy it for the first time. This will also unlock if you bid and win the property in Auction.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/+Y6rxQ==.jpg Now You're On Your Way - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Own your first monopoly.

Owning a monopoly is when you own all properties of a given color on the board. Properties come in groups of two or three. You must own them all at the same time with one player to unlock this achievement. You can either hope to luckily roll to land on them to be able to purchase the properties, or just trade for them from whatever other player owns them. This is easy in pass-and-play. To initiate a trade, hit the Trade icon (has two arrows, right next to dice roll or end turn icon). Then select the player you want to trade with and just swap for the properties you need.

Build your first set of houses.

See "The View From The Top."

Build your first set of hotels.

In order to be able to build a set of houses or hotels, you must own a monopoly on the properties with one player. Then, once it is your turn, tap those those properties on the board to go into Manage Mode. The Improvements Screen will show up now. Drag a single green house down to each property in the monopoly. Then hit the green checkmark to confirm the purchase and unlock the "Climbing Your Way Up The Ladder" achievement. Do the same with the hotels to unlock "The View From The Top" achievement. Note that you must have enough money to purchase the house and hotel sets (price varies depending on property group).

Land on every property on the board in the same game.

This achievement requires that you land on each of the 22 properties on the board in a single game. It is definitely best to go for this in 4-player pass-and-play with the game set to "2 million" to win. All players movements count towards this achievement so you will have little trouble getting it before completing the game. Just purchase every property when you land on it so you know which ones you have left.

Get 1 million.

See "Double Up!"

Get 2 million.

These achievements just require that you attain more than 1 and 2 million dollars in a game. Make sure to set the game to 2 million dollars to win (it will ask at the start of the game). If you are playing pass-and-play, both of these achievements will unlock by the end of the game when any player surpasses 2 million dollars to win.

Use a Sly Deal and a Forced Deal in the same game.

At the very start of the game, each space in the board will have a diamond symbol on it. The first person that lands on each space will be given a Fortune Card. Fortune Cards can be any number of things, including Sly Deal and Forced Deal cards. The Sly Deal card allows the player that uses it to steal any property from another player uncontested (except if that property is already part of a monopoly). The Forced Deal card is similar, but you must give up one of your properties in the forced deal as well. In 4-player pass-and-play, after a few trips around the board, see which (if any) player has both a Forced Deal and a Sly Deal card. Then use both of them in the game. To use the cards, when it is a player's turn, click on their icon in their respective corner of the screen. Then select the card you want to use. This is also how you see which players have which cards. This process can be combined with the "Deal Breaker" achievement.

Use a Just Say No card to block the opponent from getting a monopoly off of you.

The Just Say No card is a Fortune Card you can get near the beginning of the game. See "Property Thief" for more information on Fortune Cards. The setup to earn this achievement is explained below.

  1. Player A must have a Forced or Sly Deal card. Player B must have a Just Say No card. This is the most important thing to set-up. If you dont get this in 4-player pass-and-play, restart the game so you do.
  2. Now, Player A should get all properties in a group, except for one of them. Player B should get that property that Player A is missing. Do this by landing on and purchasing the properties, buying them in auctions, or just simply trading them between your players.
  3. Now, when it is Player A's turn, use the Sly Deal card to get the last property in that group that Player B owns. This would give Player A a monopoly if the deal went through.
  4. Stop the deal with Player B by using the Just Say No card (a window will pop-up asking if you want to use the card to stop the deal). Achievement unlocked.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/+GYY9A==.jpg No Mercy - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Be responsible for the bankruptcy of another player.

Bankruptcy is something that happens quiet infrequently in this game. To make this achievement easier, just randomly select one player that you will be buying all the properties on the board with (always go to auction, resign with everyone and make a low bid with that one player). Play for while until a good bit of the properties are owned by the one player (two or three times around the board should be good). Then trade all of the money from the three other players to the one player. Then just play naturally until the a poor player lands on an owned property. If things work out, they will not have the money to pay the rent for landing on the property, and will go bankrupt, unlocking this achievement. The bankrupt player may need to hit the "Resign" icon for the achievement to pop.

Bankrupt yourself out of the game for the first time.

See "No Mercy" as this achievement will unlock at the same time if using that method in pass-and-play multiplayer.

Upgrade your mover to the maximum.

Your "mover" is just the figurine you move around the playing board with. Each time you pass GO, you can upgrade you mover for 50K. Purchase the upgrade two times in a single game with the same mover to unlock this achievement. Upgraded movers have the potential to earn more money, so it is always suggested you do so.

Get property for less than the price on the board in Auction.

This achievement is very easy. All you need to do is land on a property and decline to purchase it. This will bring you to the Auction. Make a very small bid with one player (1K) and then resign from the auction with all other players (hit the red "X"). The player that wins will have gotten the property for much less than the board value which will unlock this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/UP54NqE=.jpg Multi-Millionaires! - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Play a multiplayer game in Pass 'n Play.

This will unlock as soon as you start a pass-and-play multiplayer game. To do this, just make sure you pick at least two human players in the Game Setup screen and tap the green checkmark to start the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/UPxZPxQ=.jpg Time To Collect - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Collect your first rent payment from any other player.

You first need to purchase a property with a player. Then any other player needs to land on that property and pay rent to the owner. This will come without any problem. Do not even worry about it.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/UP25x4c=.jpg Dashed Hopes - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Break up another player's Monopoly.

You first must acquire a monopoly with one player by owning all properties in a colored group. Do this by purchasing them or trading with other players. Once the player has a monopoly, use any other player to trade for one of the properties in the monopoly. Accept the trade and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/UPgbLH4=.jpg No Monopoly - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Win a game without holding any monopoly.

Simple. Just win the game without ever having a monopoly. Just be careful not to purchase or trade for all of the properties in a group. If you are having trouble with this, just play a 2-player pass-and-play game to 1 million dollars. Don't get any monopolies with either player and the achievement will unlock.

ROLLING DOUBLES ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 40 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 3 achievements are related to rolling doubles and can be obtained in single player or pass-and-play multiplayer. When in pass-and-play multiplayer, the achievements will unlock if ANY of the players meet the requirements.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/-+2xGg==.jpg Rolled To Freedom - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Roll a double to get out of jail.

In order to be able to obtain this achievement, you must first land in jail. This can be done by landing on the "Go To Jail" spot on the board, by rolling doubles three times in a row, or by picking up certain Chance cards. Once in jail, you are given three turns to roll doubles in order to get out of jail. To unlock this achievement, do just this. After your third turn, you will be forced to pay money to get out. There is no trick here to use. You will most likely get this without much effort while going for the other achievements. Any time you are sent to jail, always choose to take the three attempts in order to roll your way out. Do not pay the money or use a get out of jail card.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/-g1JiQ==.jpg Rolled To Jail - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Roll three doubles in a row and get sent to jail.

Ordinarily, rolling doubles is a good thing because you get to take another turn. However, when you roll doubles three times in a row, you are forced to go to jail. This is exactly what you need to do in order to unlock this achievement. This achievement will probably come without much attention while going for the other achievements. However, if you are having trouble, see "High Roller" for a trick to help with rolling consecutive doubles.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2676/-CxAPA==.jpg High Roller - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Roll a double six twice in a row.

This is the most luck-based achievement in the game. It requires that you roll a double six with one player two times in a row. The key to getting this achievement with as little frustration as possible is to double tap when rolling. When you quickly (but precisely) double tap the dice to roll them on the board, they will frequently not even flip and land in the same exact position as the previous roll. Use this to your advantage. Play a four-player game to 2 million dollars and keep rolling normally until you get double sixes. Then use the double tap trick to attempt to get the double sixes a second time and unlock the achievement. It is best to practice the double tap trick on random dice rolls to try to perfect it for when you finally roll the double sixes. It doesnt seem to be 100% guaranteed to work, but the skill can be honed a bit.
