Arsenic 17
*GAME HAS BEEN DELISTED* Doritos Crash Course GO ROADMAP Overview -Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10 (much harder without Xbox 360 controller) -Estimated time for 200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png: 2-6 hours (depending on skill / if using Xbox 360 controller) -Minimum playthroughs: 1 (level select) -Offline: 13/13 (200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) -Online: 0/13 (0http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) -Missable Achievements: 0 (level select) -Unobtainable Achievements: 0 -Does difficulty affect achievements: No difficulty option -Cheats disable achievements: No cheats -Glitched achievements: 0 -Extra equipment needed: Windows 8 PC or Tablet (Xbox 360 controller recommended) Introduction Doritos Crash Course is a 3-D, side-scrolling platform game that has been ported over to Windows 8 from Xbox Live Arcade. The object of the game is to maneuver your Xbox Live avatar through the obstacle course presented in each level to the finish line in a timely fashion, with bronze, silver, and gold medals up for grabs. The game consists of five unique locations and a total of 25 levels. The game fully supports the Xbox 360 controller and this is the optimal control method to make this completion the easiest. Currently the game is DELISTED from Windows 8 Store. Step 1: Earn a gold medal on every level Play through the levels from the beginning, going for gold on each as you progress. If you get stuck, feel free to skip ahead and come back later when your are more practiced. You may also want to pay attention to the miscellaneous achievements as you go. Step 2: Mop-up miscellaneous achievements Complete whatever miscellaneous achievements you may have left. Most of them can be completed rather quickly on specific levels. Conclusion Doritos Crash Course GO has essentially the same achievement list as its XBLA counterpart, save the online features. It is much easier to play with an Xbox 360 controller, though it is still entirely doable with keyboard or touch controls. The hardest and most time consuming part of the game is earning gold medals on all of the levels. With that said, you should have little trouble completing the game in under 6 hours. The developers have really nerfed this version, making it far easier to complete levels than on the XBLA version. GUIDE COMPLETION ACHIEVEMENTS (6 for 100 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 6 achievements are obtained just by earning gold medals on all 25 levels in the game. American Hero - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Finish the USA Levels. See "I'm Big in Japan." Hats off to You! - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Get launched through the magic hat in Vegas 5. See "I'm Big in Japan." Euro Star - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Finish the European Levels. See "I'm Big in Japan." London Bridge - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Survive the collapsing bridge in London 5. See "I'm Big in Japan." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2661/+Iq1qw==.jpg I'm Big in Japan - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Finish the Japan Levels. These achievements are awarded for finishing all the levels in each of the 5 unique locations. Finishing a level only requires that you make it through all of the obstacles to the finish line. Time does not factor in. The game begins with only a single level unlocked, with each subsequent level unlocking when you finish the previous. All of these completion achievements will unlock when you finish the fifth level of each location. NOTE: For the "London Bridge" and "Hats off to You!" achievements, you cannot skip those specific obstacles in the levels (by chickening out after failing too many times). You must overcome those obstacles to unlock the achievements. Other than those specific obstacles, you can skip any section or any level you want. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2661/+WpNOA==.jpg Going for Gold! - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Earn a gold medal on each level. This achievement requires that you earn a gold medal on all 25 levels of the game. As you are progressing through the game, you should keep playing each level until you become familiar enough with it to reach the gold medal time. Some tips for success: Make sure to constantly be using the sprint button. Always slide down ramps (by pushing down) as you go faster Try to take the high routes. They are almost always faster and easier. If you fall down to a lower route, it will most likely slow you down. The level's obstacles are often in-sync for a player that is going at nearly full speed. If you get tripped up, try and get back in sync with the obstacles. The gold medal times for all of the levels are given below. USA Level 1 - Safety First - 00:45.00 Level 2 - Learning the Ropes - 01:05.00 Level 3 - Jungle Gym Hijinx - 01:15.00 Level 4 - On the Rebound - 01:25.00 Level 5 - Nothing but Air - 01:20.00 Las Vegas Level 1 - Jackpot! - 00:56:00 Level 2 - Magic Hats - 01:05:00 Level 3 - Mice and Dice - 01:15:00 Level 4 - What Happens in Vegas... - 01:03:00 Level 5 - Fear and Loathing - 01:12:00 Europe Level 1 - Slip Slide Ride - 01:30.00 Level 2 - Conveyance - 01:25.00 Level 3 - Elevation - 01:25.00 Level 4 - Shaky Footing - 01:20.00 Level 5 - Swinging in the Rain - 01:55.00 London Level 1 - Mind the Gap - 01:06:00 Level 2 - Blimey - 01:??:00 Level 3 - Fish and Chips - 01:08:00 Level 4 - Cheers - Level 5 - Abbey Road - Japan Level 1 - Rebounding Again - 01:20.00 Level 2 - Domou Arigatou - 01:15.00 Level 3 - Peak Performance - 01:45.00 Level 4 - Muzukashii Wheel - 01:45.00 Level 5 - Get Carter - 01:35.00 Edited June 3, 2014 by Arsenic
Arsenic 17
MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (7 for 100 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 7 achievements are obtained by completing miscellaneous requirements or tasks and can be earned on any level (where possible), unless otherwise specified. Tarzan - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Swing from rope to rope 10 times in a row. This achievement requires that you swing from multiple ropes a total of 10 times in a row without falling off. This can easily be obtained on USA Level 3, Jungle Gym Hijinx. Very near the beginning of the level, you will come to two ropes that are close to one another. Jump up onto the first one and then keep jumping back and forth between the two a total of 10 times to unlock this achievement. Feel free to go as slow as you want. See the video below if you are confused (thanks to TealPavelski). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi7F3IPmaWw]Tarzan Achievement - Doritos Crash Course Video Guide - YouTube[/ame] Hopscotch - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Bounce from trampoline to trampoline 12 times in a row. This achievement requires that you bounce from trampoline to trampoline 12 times in a row without touching the ground, or bouncing on the same trampoline twice in a row. This can easily be earned in Europe Level 1, Slip Slide Ride. Towards the beginning of the level, you will come to a series of 5 trampolines in a row. Start with the first one and bounce on them all towards the right. Bounce on them in any order you want, just make sure not to bounce on the same one twice in a row. See the video below if you are confused (thanks to TealPavelski). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBwr51MRtFo]Hopscotch Achievement - Doritos Crash Course Video Guide - YouTube[/ame] Roadrunner - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Retry a course right away, beating your previous time. This achievement requires that you complete a level, hit "Retry" upon completion, then complete the level again faster than you did the first time. This can be done on any level and at any point in your progression through the game. To be safe, just complete a level very slowly so that when you retry it you can easily beat your time. That's Gotta Hurt - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Get smashed by 3 hammers in a row. This achievement requires that you get hit by three hammers in a row. Contrary to the achievement tile, this is not possible to get with the swinging hammers as they knock you down into the water and send you back to the checkpoint. This must be done with the hammers that come down from above and smash you into the ground, temporarily dazing you. This achievement is easily obtained on USA Level 5, Nothing But Air. Near the beginning of the level, you will come to a conveyor belt with four hammers in a row. Make your way to the one farthest on the right and let yourself get smashed. You will keep getting smashed by the hammers as you are pushed along by the conveyor belt. See the video below if you are confused (thanks to TealPavelski). This achievement requires that you pass from fan to fan, 20 times in a row without falling off or touching the ground or anything else. This can easily be obtained on USA Level 5, Nothing But Air. Near the beginning of the level, you will come to an area with a conveyor belt on top and a bunch of fans down below. Get yourself down into the fans and just float back-and-forth until the achievement unlocks. See the video below if you are confused (thanks to TealPavelski). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWxcIZljx8w]Frequent Flyer Achievement - Doritos Crash Course Video Guide - YouTube[/ame] Party Pooper - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Pop 25 balloons in one level. This achievement requires that you pop a total of 25 balloons in a single playthrough of a level. This can first be earned on Las Vegas Level 1, Jackpot. A little ways into the level, you will come to two gaps that have an infinitely spawning balloons. Just keep jumping on the balloons until you reach total of 25. Note that you can take as long as you want and also touch the ground as often as you please. VIDEO COMING SOON! Sore wa kantan desu - 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Finish Japan level 4 with a time of 1:40 or better. This achievement requires that you complete Japan Level 4, Mizukashii Wheel in under 1:40, a full 5 seconds less than the gold medal time. This is not that difficult once you become familiar with the level by playing it a few times. See the video below for strategies to save time (thanks to TealPavelski). Note that the video below is for the XBLA version, which has a slightly different level setup and was more difficult (thanks to Maka for pointing this out!). Added a video for the "Party Pooper" achievement. Guide submitted for publication to site. 6/7/13 - Guide published to site. 7/14/13 - Updated some of the times for "Going for Gold." Please suggest more if you can. Thanks. There are a few missing. 6/3/14 - The game has been delisted from the store. XBOX ISAAC82
Nice guide Arsenic and posted super quick as usual. I got to say though I would probably put the difficulty at 5/10. The AG for the XBLA version puts it at 5/10 and on that you only needed to get 15 golds. There are also a few levels which I and many others find very frustrating. I ended up giving up on the XBLA version but perhaps I am just crap at it. Obviously I will see what sort of completion ratio it has in a few weeks and perhaps put it on the Easy 200 List. Thanks for the input Isaac. I was a little unsure on the difficulty as I havent got all the gold yet. But I did read in the XBLA version that the hardest achievement was the 1:40 time on the one Japan level. One this version, I got that achievement on my second ever attempt of the level. As you have done, I also gave up on the XBLA version. Couldnt get gold on all levels, but really didnt put much effort into it. Will change the diff to 5/10 for now. Will leave it up to debate for the future.
Corrupt.
Thanks mate! Did you get the free trial that has achievements or did you have to pay the high price of 1.49 ? ha I think I paid 99p. I think it is easier than the xbla version, some of the Japan tracks in particular are a lot more fogiving.

andami
The Japan levels were the only reason the original game was given a 5. Without Japan, it was considered a two. So, using that reasoning, this game should be a 3 or 4 due to the nerfed difficulty of this game's Japan levels

simmshady22
Thanks for the guide. I downloaded the game for free from the "trial". I used just a keyboard and managed to get all gold besides 1 level. I'm having some trouble with Las Vegas 5 but ill beat it eventually. I'd say 4/10 is a good difficulty. Edit: All done! 200/200 Edited April 17, 2013 by simmshady22
XBOX ISAAC82
How could the original XBLA version be considered a 2/10? That is just crazy. I do hate when people put in silly achievement difficulties. I know it is all relative to a players skill but 2/10 to me implies that my 6 year old nephew or my girlfriend could get gold on 10 levels without without too much hassle or that I could do it in 1 or 2 attempts. Having to repeat a level 10-15+ times to get a gold does not make it easy and definitely not achievable by all. A completion rate of 12.8% on TA.com, a site designed for those who are generally achievement completionists implies to me that not too many people were able to complete it either. All that being said this version is definitely easier than the XBLA version but I still think 5/10. Based on the completion rate on TA of the original I would put that 6/10 or even 7/10. I haven't completed yet though. Even without Japan levels, no way 2/10. 2/10 is a toddler can beat it by accident. 1/10 is baby beat it by accident

If Crash Course was 2/10 I would never be completing anything higher than 5/10 and I would like to think I am a pretty decent gamer. Anyway, I managed to get gold on all Japan levels, USA and Vegas. Just got to finish last level on Europe and do all London. Edited April 18, 2013 by XBOX ISAAC82
Arsenic 17
If anyone would be so awesome and could make a video of them completing the Japan level in under 1:40 that would be great! since this version is different than the XBLA video that I used here. I tried making the video, but Windows 8 didnt want to cooperate with my Fraps program that I usually use for screen capture. Thanks!

I have tried three different programs but all of them slow the game down dramatically immediately or after about 10-20 seconds. Even when the game seems run ok the recordings still come out all jittery. Very frustrating. Edit: Tried this again tonight but done it on my PC instead. Same results. I just don't understand it especially with my set-up. I have recorded games at 1920x1080 without any issues on Win7 but even running Crash Course in a window it seriously struggled. My set-up: i7 2700k, 8gb Corsair DDR3 Radeon HD 6870 x 2 Crossfire 120GB Crucial SSD Edited April 27, 2013 by XBOX ISAAC82
