"How many days exactly?" question

The achievement requires that you play Dead Island at least 28 days after starting it for the first time. Do you think this is based on your first achievement or just creating a save file? I plan to start this game in the next few weeks and I want to get a jump on this achievement, but I'd prefer to not earn an achievement right away (OCD about gamercard/completion percentage) in case I change my mind and decide to hold off for some extended length of time.

edit: Answered this myself by using a dummy profile, starting a new game, then quitting to dashboard, disconnecting from LIVE, and changing date beyond 28 days ahead. Relaunched game and achievement popped before main menu loaded.
