Second Wave Abuse
If you don't mind a little reloading/save scumming then here is a tip for those harder play-throughs.
In second wave check "not created equally" then start the campaign. Now check your rookie's stats, each soldier has their stats generated independently so with some reloading you can make the most of this. Rookie's stats range; Aim 55-85 Normally 65. Will 25-62 Normally 40 Mov 11-13 Normally 12 At aim Cap which seems to happen quire often, that's equivalent to 2 scopes free, on first mission. Also worth noting that with Iron will + New Guy, a Squaddie's Willpower can be as high as 76 on generation. Hope this helps those struggling, makes the first missions a lot easier.

Why would you want to make a game harder just to make it easier again?

I've seen snipers with aim as high as 95(!)...but that's after the 'Squaddie' OTS.
Heavy's don't go higher than 87. Assault and Support can be 90. Usually, I buy 50 or 60 new guys near the end and pick out the best of each class to go on the end run. Trying to decide if it is better to go with the random leveling numbers... |

Clues in your question, some people simply don't want but they would still like the Achieves. I say alot easier, really it just helps. No amount of re-rolls can save you from that crackshot sectoid & his sniper pistol.
