Skill Book Locations?

So atm I'm doing the 'Read 50 skill books' achievement. Atm I'm only on 11 books read... where's the best place to find these books or is there another way to get the achievement? Cheers

you could probably find the location of every skill book on the skyrim wiki. but generally, they are scattered all over skyrim. theres just so many, in so many places. try this site:

as a general rule of thumb, any book worth over 100 gold is likely to be a skill book, gives a good guide before picking the book up and reading it. i got this achievement just playing the game naturally, but i could certainly use skill books now i'm slowly dragging myself upto 78 for that damn legendary dragon achievement.

I know picking each book up and hoping it's a good one really sucks. But, it's part of the game.

the more expensive books are the ones that will grant you skill points. it says the price while hovering overthe item with crosshair so dont even need to pick it up if its below 60 or so.

You can always use my Guide posted on this site....It has not been updated with the Dawnguard DLC (Not even sure if there is any new ones with this DLC)...but it will get you to the 50.

They're usually all over Skyrim.

This is list of all skill books, their locations, what skill they raise, etc.

That way if you only want to increase certain skills, you know where to go.

I've gotten around 30 just randomly coming across them prolly not a bad idea to look a few up to polish this off.

Need some way of sorting them by location, so you can find a spot where there are heaps, go there, smash them out, then go next spot etc.

The way I've found them listed is by Skill book type (ie what skills they increase).
