Assassin's Creed Struggling to Fit on an Xbox 360 DVD

Ubisoft has revealed some of the problems is facing to make Assassin's Creed as good on the PlayStation 3 as it is on the Xbox 360.
Patrice Desilets, the creative director of Assassin's Creed, revealed that with the Xbox 360 version the problem is the storage medium. Desilets told Pro-G in an interview that one of the biggest challenges the team is currently facing with the Xbox 360 version of the game is fitting everything into a DVD-9 disc; something that is not a problem with the Blu-ray Disc format used by the PlayStation 3.
However, the PlayStation 3 version of Assassin's Creed is experiencing different issues because of the platform's memory architecture, which-- contrary to the Xbox 360, is not unified but split into 256 MB of main memory and 256 MB of video memory.
Desilets added: "Both have their own challenges. Right now we have a big challenge on the 360 to make it fit on a DVD, to put five languages, to put all the data on eight gigs. On the Blu-ray side we're really good, but then the memory is quite different. How we handle memory is really different between the two machines and we're struggling right now on the PS3. But we have people who are really dedicated and we're having help from Microsoft on one side and Sony on the other side to have the same quality on both systems. It really depends on the week basically as to who's best."
Blue Dragon was no worse by having three discs. I'd rather have to switch between two or three than have them take decent stuff out and screwing up the entire game just to fit it onto one disc.
And this...

It will never be as good on the PS3, so why bother?

It would be a pain in the ass to switch discs. But if they have to take content out because there is not enough space on one DVD-Rom then I wont mind it.

It's not the first game where we had to switch CD's to keep going. I don't think it will be a major issue. Just bring it on.

You disagree? I probably can kick your @$$ by my Wii.
This better not get delayed because of this. I'm really excited for it and can't wait to start playing it. All the videos I've seen about it have made me want it more and more.
Can the PS3 have updates ? Like we can, or have additional contend added in later on ?
( I dont like Sonny so am a n00b with them...Yay!! )
I believe they have some kind of system set up that is ultimately inferior to Xbox Live. I'm a PS3 noob as well.
In reference to the size, I don't care... I'll take 3 DVDs. It wasn't so long ago that most (good) games had multiple discs. Has everyone forgotten the PS1??

I played Final Fantasy XIII on my computer and it had a total of 5 discs and it didn't even bother me. So as long as they don't have to shorten it or something, it's all fine. I mean how hard is it to insert and remove a DVD...
Yea, Final Fantasy VII was one of the greatest games EVER and it had three disks. Like everyone else said, as long as they dont delay it, or take anything fun out of the game to make it work, I will be happy.
Honestly, I don't see what the problem with multiple discs is. I played through Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 and Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation, i'm playing Blue Dragon now, and changing the disc hasn't been a problem for any of them.
I think that as long as the game is as awesome as it has promised to be, then it won't matter how many discs it's on.

I've been through two delays already, I don't want a third. I had it preordered since January of last year when it was supposed to come out in May. I haven't forgotten the PS1, I had a ton of games that had multiple discs. Games like RE 3 and Legend of the Dragoon as well as Chrono Cross were all multi-disc games. Any Final Fantasy game on the PS 1 was multi disc. I don't mind swapping discs as long as the content on it doesn't suffer.
Since the game is free-roam, it would be kind of difficult... I heard that the demo was going to be just one of five major cities, and it would be the smallest one... they couldn't put it on live due to its sheer 2+ GB size (for one small city!) When you think about that, its insane how much memory the game takes up! It is going to be sweet!
