Game Won't Launch?

I installed this game when I got Windows 8 a few weeks back, but held off on starting it because of the Marathon achievement. Since it's the first of the month, I tried to launch it, but it takes me right back to the start menu. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice and even restart my machine and it still won't launch. Is anyone else having this issue?
