ponypo2001
Just curious if anyone else has done the DLC lab mission? As soon as you enter the mission, you pick up a folder with a familiar symbol on it. The Abstergo symbol! The whole mission is one big easter egg and even has another easter egg shoutout to Bioshock when the main character exclaims, "Would you kindly" when powering the elevator. Really cool mission too. Show's what a templar group of Japanese scientists were up to during WW2. Fantastic stuff. Anyone else enjoy this mission?
Ink129
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by this mission - it was fun with some nice references. Very cool mission.
Giptuc
If you do both of the missions you will notice that EVERYTHING he says is a reference to something. In the other one he references really needing a portal, honey badgers, golden girls and there are a few other ones in there as well
SIMPLYMIDGET
Don't forget Yogurt.
Kite87
On one of the early missions, I think it's the one where you are getting the mushroom for the Doc. The main character looks off a cliff and says "leap of faith". seems like another small reference AC to me.
darkmorgado
Is this the Test Unit mission? I went in, didn't pick up any folder, there was no elevator, not even any dialogue. Just five minutes of boring dark corridors, a few dogs and then a really crap escape sequence that lasted 20 seconds. Is there a second one or something? Sounds like you did the other one with the portal reference.
Hurricane Of 87
Once you collect all the pieces/files there's on-screen message reading what you've picked up and there's a reference to Pieces Of Eden there. Cool mission but the bad guys seemed to find you a lot easier here rather than anywhere else.
Direkin
Haven't touched the DLC stuff yet, but even in vanilla gameplay you see hallmarks of the AC franchise. Take the radio towers for example.

The missions full of the references are the two 'Lost Expedition' preorder DLC missions. One of them starts with you picking up an Abstergo folder and the other starts with the place on fire and you have 10 minutes to get through the whole thing and out. The missions are crap but this is a kind of spoiler.. At the end of the fire one you black out a little.. was really hoping like... youd come back a little and see someone pulling you out and it would be desmond (you wouldnt see him but the clothes and back of the hair or something... enough that fans of AC would know)
Wullsterino
Without spoiling anything at the end, your guy ends up resembling an assassin in another way by the end of the game...
