Skylander Giant not working on portal

I have the first portal and i finds all my first gen skylanders while playing giants. But everytime i put the giant on it does not read it. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or might just be a broken giant. i have only one giant at this time so cant test.

I have four giants (Tree Rex, Crusher, Swarm, and Bouncer) and they all work fine on my first gen portal. I would say that the giant you've got is faulty.

My old portal didnt work well either with the 4 new Giants. Glad I bought the new starter pack as well. No issues there.

Mine are working on my original portal, but I have heard several accounts from people where theirs are not. Some sort of defect.

That's terrible!

I actually bought the game with the portal to get Tree Rex, so I never plugged in the original.

Hope it's a software thing they can patch quickly so that you don't have to wait for a replacement...
