Failure Teaches Success

Greetings,

I tried this achievement by losing through survival, I went through all the characters including the story unlockable ones, Pai and Alpha-152 but got no success.

At first I thought this game was twisted enough so I needed to lose as Lisa and Mr. Strong which I did without any success either.

Is there something I am missing here?

EDIT: I just lost with everyone in arcade mode and got it (including unlockable characters).
