NBA 2K13 - Better With Kinect

Yes, the title is not a joke. It will be better with Kinect and here is the proof of that.

I wonder if it will be anything similar to FIFA 13 and being able to manage your team with voice commands? I'm all for it!

EDIT: Maybe it'll have some kind of minigame with basketball recognition like that Baller Beats game.

If it's a way to have people enjoy the game a little more, then hell yeah I hope there is Kinect achievements. I'd want all games that are labelled "better with Kinect" to have some sort of achievement tied to it.

But there are others (the guy who is mad that Madden NFL 13 is the first NFL game he can't get 1000G piss-easy because it requires Kinect) who will say it's a bad move.

There should never be kinect achievements unless it is a 100% kinect game. If people like kinect features in games thats great, but dont force it on the rest of us. It should be an added feature and not a requirement for achievement hunters. Some people just dont want it and others just cant afford it.


Now if the next xbox comes out the box with it for everyone, then it may be a different story. But not right now when the large majority of xbox owners dont own one.


That said I think if done right the kinect features for this game would be one of the best implementations of kinect (from what i seen so far). being able to give players on your team commands like "pick and roll" "cut to the basket" on the fly would really improve the game without button commands, would really improve the game.

Am I the only one who laughed at "Executive Produced by Jay Z" ? I didn't realize he was making moves in the gaming industry.

He's part owner of the Nets. It's no so much a gaming industry move as it is a basketball move. Not to mention he's also in the music industry. So this really isn't as far of a stretch as you'd think.

As far as "better with kinect", I've never had a good experience with the kinect. I tried it in Best Buy and I sucked at whatever sport I was playing. I also tried it at the Microsoft Store and couldn't even get fruit ninja to start (you have to swipe to start... my swipes were way off). I've also had a terrible experience with voice commands (not on the kinect, but on other things like iPhone/bluetooth/etc.). I feel like I'd tell Dwight Howard to give me a pick and roll (I will be starting point guard on the Lakers in "My Career", forcing Steve Nash to come off the bench or retire), and the kinect would hear "Dwight Howard: three pointer".

The Kinect features look amazing to me, but they aren't for me. This year just might end up as a PC buy for me.

On a side note, wouldn't it be great if you could just use your headset instead of needing a Kinect?

My Kinect keeps randomly calling timeouts, and its very annoying.
I've head that others are having issues with it "hearing" someone make the command for an Intentional Foul.

The worst part is, I have the Kinect turned off in the main menu, but when you go into MyCareer/MyPlayer the damn thing is still listening when you are in a game, and the MyCareer menus don't list any option for you to turn the Kinect functionality off.

I loving getting called for technical fouls every time I get vocal about my opponent getting by me and scoring. Anyone know if you get enough technicals if you get suspended like in real life?
