It's not a glitch, it's just terrible exploitable programming by Bethesda. If you're not keen on doing it that way just with tons of overpowered downloadable content to whiz through the game with and giving yourself every perk in the game. They can't ban you because you're using the games console to your advantage, especially in a Single Player game.

The game being single player is irrelevant. The rest of what you said is accurate, just don't want people to interpret that to mean they have certain liberties based on player count

Well, other than directly modding your gamerscore, you can pretty much do whatever you like to Fallout 3 and still get the GFWL achievements with timestamps, unless you start using mods which require you to boot up using an external .exe into which case it won't have the GFWL overlay and then you won't be able to unlock them,. of course the mods that require that drastically change the game.

You can do the same to NV and get all the Steam ones to.

I unlocked all of the achievements on the 360. Even though I loved the game. I couldn't bring myself to play it all over again on the PC. Good on the people that played through both versions. I earned them before. So I just typed them all in.

The Gamebryo engine that games like Fallout and Oblivion use isn't a result of "terrible exploitable programming", the console is there intentionally and by design. Something you snowflakes who only play Xbox don’t realize is that modding in computer gaming is actually encouraged, it's part of the appeal of computer gaming. You can even go on Steam and purchase/download programs to mod your games. Contrary to what a lot of Xbox players seem to think, you cant "cheat" in a single player game. Back before the 360 came out almost every console game had cheat codes built into them, that only stopped when the 360 came along with their precious achievements.

Something else to keep in mind, unlike Xbox, PC games cant be reused. Well, most newer titles anyway, they require a one time use key when installing the game. Of course you can get around that with pirated versions and the use of a keygen, but even that’s getting harder to do with Steam. If you want to pay $25 for Fallout 3 and just type in commands to unlock the achievements then I say go for it, it’s a pretty stupid waste of money for a lousy 1550 points anyway.

Did you seriously just say that? Of course you can cheat in a single player game. The only difference between cheating in single player and cheating in multiplayer is that doing it in single player doesn't fuck over everyone else you're playing with. It's still quite possible to cheat, though.

Like I said in my post, that's a phenomenon found within the xbox community. A lot of PC games have access to the console for inputting commands like Fallout does and modding your games is also a well respected practice as well. You people who only play xbox seem to think it's "cheating" but whatever.

Cheating implies you're gaining an advantage over other players and you cant gain that advantage in a single player game.
