Half Life: 3

As Valve fans we all know that according to Valve Time Christmas 2007 is coincident with the Rapture and that a fat joke a day keeps Episode 3 away.

It has also been said that Valve is incapable of counting to three in general. But it seems that something out of myth has happened today.


Valve had put Half Life: 3 on the Gamescon 2012 list and then this morning requested that it be removed (Dragon Age 3 was also requested to be removed from the official Gamescon list aswell although this is completely unrelated).

Now this isn't entirely surprising since the release of the Source Film Maker revealed that there is a Source Engine 2 and speculation has been raving.

Unfortunately this was already confirmed as fake. At this point it's highly unlikely that the next Half-Life game will release during this console generation. I think we still have 2 years minimum until Half-Life 3 (or Episode 3) is actually released. Unless the 'real' announcement of the next Half-Life is imminent (like within the next few months) there's no way it releases by the end of 2013 when taking Valve Time into account.

Valve Time. Fickle thing that is. But the upshot of Valve Time being that Valve only releases things when they're ready, no interference from EA can ever change that.

Well seems more like a typo since they were supposed to be working on episode 3, not half life 3. There's not enough reasons to jump from episode 2 to half life 3 yet.

This is from a company that has trouble with the number 3. I decided to give up all hope a long time ago.
