Famestar Weekly Mission 8/15 STUCK

So, my girlfriend and I are kinda new to this game...we are working on the Famestar weekly challenge, and it requires a University which needs 2 books...some are on islands, which we can't reach...is there a use for the docks and boats? Or a way to reach that stuff across the water?

Good thing I did a majority of the bulding before the weekly challenge. I did however helped a guy re-build everything from scratch, since he forgot to save.

Seems I am stuck as well. I can't reach the books on the islands either and have built everything possible from the blueprints I have, but still can't complete the university. Been plugging away at more resources, but still doesn't seem to give me a bridge blueprint.

EDIT: Finally got the bridge. For others with the same proble: Build absolutely everything! Make sure every blueprint is checkmarked, build every extra house that you have hearts for, etc. Some of the buildings you can't even use until you have the university, but need to be built anyway. That unlocked the Metal Trader, who then unlocks the bridge blueprints.

You reach the stuff across the water with the bridges, to get the bridges you have to keep playing through the game and build your other blueprints and finish sidequests from the other Keflings. Eventually you'll get the blueprints.
