FHP DLC is always free and broken, and it always has achievements. What's unique about this, however, is that it doesn't require you to play the stupid online tournaments. And it adds Avatar Famestar functionality, which adds a certain degree of replayability.

Are the achievements retroactive? Or do you think we have to win an additional 10,000 hands? lol.

Also, @SixSticks - I don't have a good feeling they'll re-activate the Spring 2011 Tourney achievements, since we're already in Summer 2012

I'm surprised they didn't keep it going with the online tourneys last year though. I thought there were plenty of players online.

Glad I spotted this. Haven't played it in awhile. Mainly because I hardly find any players. And Texas heat might as well be dead. Just me vs. the bots

I wish they'd bring out a retail poker game sometime soon.

I just started it up and unlocked Alpha Dog at the menu so they should all be retroactive.

Do you need to download the new DLC or does it do it automatically through game updates? Ive just been on the game, I have the new Avatar Famestar thing on the menu now but the 3 new achievements havent been added to achievements section on the game. Am i just being impatient or am i missing something?

Well this is quite the surprise, I thought the game was dead seeing as how its been like an entire year since the last dlc

yes you need to download it from the marketplace, its only around 300 kb and its FOR FREE

Sweet! I think I'll get at least two of the achievements right off the bat.
Might be a grind for the 10,000 hands though.

This is a good game to just sit back and relax while playing too. It's a refreshing change of pace every once and a while.

So if the achievements are retro-active then why didn't Alpha Dog pop up for me? I have 56 tournament wins. I was just curious if this needs to be in a specific setting. Thanks!

EDIT: Well strange enough after 30 minutes of playing and not winning another tournament it popped up. Weird. Must still be a little buggy.

the best retail games are the WSOP ones. WSOP:2008 & WSOP:TOC (most current). most realistic play on & offline. i play real life tourneys

Has anybody else unlocked Alpha Dog achievement but the gamerscore hasn't been added? I had all 300G before the DLC came out, I unlocked this achievement and I still have 300G.

That sounds like a gamertag issue. Try recovering your gamertag.
