Tonics & Big daddy research Q

Nearly finished this game but have missed some achievements, I don't have the bouncer research fully completed or tonic achievements, I'm looking to quickly go through to get them all, my question is can you get all tonics without fully researching the big daddy? as I'm struggling getting full research for it, I'm on my last bar but no big daddys seem to be spawning when I'm going back to other levels? I've only missed a few tonics but don't fancy having to replay the whole game just for the tonics. Thanks.
