Just discovered that while on horseback you can not get hit by archers! Use someone that attacks on one side of the horse only ( I use sima zhao) have Wind, Multi & Brilliance on your weapon and its easy mode. The only reason I get off the horse is to use seige weapons.

I used Cai Wenji of Wei for the majority of the game, her horseback attack has a large 360 radius and can be spammed pretty fast, only need to get off to musou an officer to death for which I used Guan Yu as he was my only other high level character at the time

My suggestion is pick up Orochi X and Susano, since each of them will give you an extra live, so it gives you a better chance to clear all stages in chaos, then pick up one other character as you wish.
Should be an easy job once u level up ur team to LV99.

Plus Susano on horse with a X, Y attack is really powerful.

Yes, u have to put them in ur team first, once your life reaches zero, u will see your life bar fills up again.

Best character for chaos playthrough is easily Xiahou Ba. He's easily the most broken character in the game. With right weapon attributes and buffed with RB, C4-EX->RB OHKO pratically any officers on chaos. Also walk speed is insane when buffed, making your travels short.

Seriously, I beat the final stage on chaos with him level 35.
