Introduction:
Welcome to Awesomenauts, one of the newest takes on the MOBA game format. You may be familiar with other games of this genre such as Heroes of Newerth, DotA or League of Legends. Unlike these games, however, Awesomenauts is a 2D sidescroller using many of the same principles: you select a hero, and march alongside cannon fodder and allied heroes while attacking enemy heroes. The goal of the game is to push the enemy back to their home base, the core drill, while chewing through their defensive turrets and protecting your own. The game offers 3v3 play, with up to 3 players splitscreen per Xbox, and is going for 800 Microsoft points.

Step 1: Leveling Up
To be honest, most of the achievements will probably come naturally as you head for the level 45 achievement, "Master of the Universe!" except for maybe "Party at Sky Vault" and friend achievements, depending on if you have friends around to play with you. Be sure to win a game as every character, try to land finishing blows on turrets, try to kill as many enemy heroes as possible, and kill as many droids/creeps as you can. The most time consuming achievements are killing droids and reaching level 45, but even that can be done in a day if you're really wanting to push through the game (or couldn't stop playing it, like me). I recommend playing online in either public or private matches to save the most time, as "In pole position", "Slimer's evil twin", and "Yoooo JOE!" can only be unlocked online.

Step 2: Mop Up/Coop
You will probably have to make preparations to complete "Party at Sky Vault" if you don't have three controllers lying around, or at least another person to help you complete a game in split screen. Other ones you could be missing are "Let our powers combine!" and collecting "Wings of Silver", which I've left tips on completing below.

Conclusion:
Awesomenauts is a lot of fun if you're in to MOBA games, and the achievements shouldn't give you too much trouble if you can master the use of one or more characters. Good luck!


Achievement Guide:


Hawk, wolf, puma and bear - 5
Kill 1000 droids/creeps.

Droids and creeps are the fodder in Awesomenauts; creeps tend to be toward the center of the map and have almost no hitpoints, and droids attack wave after wave through the main paths on either side. You will probably kill more than 1000 on you way to level 45, but otherwise, pick a hard hitting character like Leon or Lonestar and pick a lane to smash bots in. You can track this in the Help and Options menu, under Stats. The "creep" count includes droids killed, so once it hits 1000 it should unlock.

T-U-R-R-E-T powah! - 15
Destroy 25 turrets.

Turrets are the large structures that block the path in each lane. Usually, you will have to smash 2 - 3 to get to the enemies core drill. However, you only get credit for actually landing the final blow on the turret. There's no stat tracking for this one, but to check to see if you got credit for smashing a turret, hit the back button to pull up the current stats.

Bionic family - 15
Win game sessions with six different characters.

You will have to win a full game with each of the six characters. Three are unlocked from the get go (Lonestar, Froggy D, Leon) and the last three are unlocked by level 11.

Let our powers combine! - 15
Play a game session with friends invited in your game session.

You will need a friend to invite for this on an online mode. Start a private match (or a regular Xbox LIVE battle, doesn't matter) and invite your friend at the ready prompt screen and finish a game. It should pop at the end.

Party at Sky Vault - 15
Win a game session with 2 friends splitscreen.

You will need three controllers for this. Start a practice match, and either get a friend or two, or pick a character you're really, really good at. It's possible using one character (I used Leon), but save yourself some trouble and get a friend. This will only unlock for player 1. Meaning: the controller with the first quadrant lit up, so be aware of that.

DROGTURIST notes that you can boost this with another person online if you're having trouble doing this otherwise: set up a private match, and invite a friend to join your game. Both of you should be on opposing teams with two guest accounts signed in.

In pole position - 15
Make the most kills of both teams in an online match.

This will need to be done online, though private works if you want to boost. There's really no "right" way to do this: pick a character you know how to play, and try to go for as many kills as you can. Great characters for this are Leon, Lonestar and Voltar (once you get full drone upgrades). You need the most kills of the match, so if you have a team with a member that's dying constantly to the same person, you may have to find another game.

Thunder, thunder, thunder! - 20
Get a killing spree.

A killing spree is three kills without dying. You will probably get this going for In pole position, if not before. If you're having troubles dying, take health upgrades, and stay close to turrets. It's an easy way to not get overwhelmed.

Awesomenauts, roll out! - 20
Unlock 3 characters.

The last three characters: Clunk, Voltar, and Yuri unlock as you level up. The last of them, Yuri, unlocks at level 11. You will get this probably in your first hour or two of playing.

Slimer's evil twin - 20
Kill the Solar boss in an online game session.

There is one level to do this on: Ribbit IV. Solar bosses are the fat frogs in on the left and right areas in the center jungle area (they are near large health drops). These guys are tough, and I don't recommend taking one down until you have a bunch of upgrades. You need to land the killing blow for credit. This must be done online private or public.

Wings of Silver - 20
Collect 35 Solar on an drop-pod drop.

When dropping by pod, there will be bits of solar metal in the sky. You will need to collect 35 of these to unlock this achievement. The patterns in the sky for particular stages never change, so learn the pattern, and eventually when you spawn/respawn. AI Station 404 has the easist path, in my opinion. It'll take some practice, but it's not impossible.

Master of the Universe! - 20
Reach max level.

The max level is 45, and it'll probably take about 8 or so hours to reach. This will probably be your last achievement. You get more solar the better you do, so go for Awesomenaut kills, turret kills, and collect as much of the free floating stuff as you can.

Yoooo JOE! - 20
Win an online game session.

Pretty easy. Join an online game, and win. You can do this in a private match, too.

Why? Auburok and I played a game against full bots with a controller hooked up for our third, so it ended up being a 2v3 match. We won just fine in spite of the one useless guy standing around. Just use characters you are good with.

Honestly, you're more likely to win (assuming you are any good) with a 2v3 than finding someone with that many controllers. I find that Auburok and I with our multitude of spare controllers is very, very rare. Seems the case whenever we are boosting on Halo or Gears of War or something.

I'll note your method. Not as easier, just as alternative. In gameplay itself, it's less effort, but not on the "having friends with money" aspect. If killing bots is difficult for someone, I suppose they could just lazily streamroll an AFK friend.

I would avoid generalizations, though. MOBA players have the harshest stereotypes to break, and the last thing Awesomenauts needs is the LoL community.

8-10 hours ? I was playing all the day yesterday (More than 17 hours) And I was the first in the world to achieve the 200/200. This game is definitely more than 12 hours-15 hours. Unless someone find a way to boost and win rapidly, I don't see anyone getting the 200 under 8 hours.

Just my 2 cents

It's based off the solar you collect per game. So if you're not pulling in a lot a match (low kills, low turret kills, low creep kills) you'll probably take longer. I got 200 in ~9 hours (according to my online game played stat) and I spent maybe 35 minutes playing offline for the split screen achievement.

I'll increase the time frame to 8-14 hours. My time frame is a bit biased because I use Leon and focus on enemy heroes rather than outright pushing. Longer games tend to give you way more solar.

EDIT: Just to show you that I'm not fooling, here's my current stats after playing 5 hours more (working on prestige).



I guess it counts total in game time, not just online time, so I guess I did clock it in at ~9 hours originally.

I can also confirm the average playtime should only be around 10 hours. I played mostly as Voltar and, as the stats below suggest, was not a huge killing machine. I also quit playing when I 200'd the game, so it took me literally around 10 hours to get everything...

Was also not really trying to get all achievements (save for the split screen one) and was just playing along.

Voltar will get you 15000 XP every match... all the other ones will get you 10 000-- depending on if you win or not.. and your general skill.

Also at one point I was trying to accept a friends invite in game.. I accepted and got disconnected from XBL, when I came back online I had my stats reset (from lvl 28).. So if your going to leave a game just use in game controls to be safe.

The only achievement that gave me problems was "Wings of Silver", but as it says in the OP, once you played enough you will eventually get it.

Anyways really enjoyed the game...

Ouch. Stats reset? That's pretty serious. I noticed the game doesn't save to the game profile directly like a lot of arcade games, and instead uses save data. I'm curious, were you using cloud storage or regular USB/HDD storage?

I did everything in the game, except the two local players, legit with no boosting and my final time was 13 hours. That's with a couple of hours of idling when I had to go do something else for a bit but didn't want to ditch my team, etc.

Another small pointer for the guide; "glitched achievement" in achievement circles actually means "unobtainable achievement," not "achievement that may be glitchy and takes a few attempts to unlock." I know, right, who cares? Some people really do and I'm just pointing it out before someone comes in here with angry yelling like they sometimes do.

FFS... what's with the obsession with semantics? The term "glitchy" and "glitched" are interchangeable on this site. Actual unobtainable achievements are labeled as such, so x360a does not consider glitched or glitchy as unobtainable - just messy or messed up.

Maybe glitched or glitchy may mean different things in the QA world or in the actual video game industry, but 360a runs its site based off the forum rules that Auburok posted. You can go read them for yourself.

... hostility and aggression? Impatience was more like it. You haven't come off pleasant in this thread at all. I ignored the Halo/GoW comment initially because it came off as the typical "cool to hate dem shooterz" attitude and I didn't want to derail, but ignoring how the site works with glitched/glitchy to keep harping on that one point was kind of the last straw for me.

The achievements that say they need to be done online in the description are the ones that must be played online. These are: winning a match, killing a solar boss, inviting a friend to play, and getting the most kills in a match.

You have to get 35 solar in one go. There's about 38 solar in the drop, so unfortunately you will have to get most of them on your way down.

EDIT: I've altered the roadmap a little to make it more clear. Sorry for the confusion.

Niiice guide I had the "luck?" of running into you while I was playing the trial. That guy with the sword(Leon?) does some serious damage. Anyway this game is actually pretty good and I would get it, if I didn't already have such a serious backlog.

Actually, I'm a huge Halo fan, it is my favorite FPS series, and the only one, and a huge Gears fan as well. All my friends are, and I can tell you there isn't a single good player with over 90% commendations on Halo REACH who doesn't have at least 4 controllers. And I have never smoked in my life, nor do I drink, and I hate rap music, so...

Just to say your guide actually made me want to download the game Auburok, so since nobody is thanking you, thank you for that.

Managed to solo the split screen achievement.
Since you need to have gold on each of the accounts if you're doing it in Private.
Or at least it wouldn't let me join a private match in split screen if I was using the silver/guest accounts. Is there a way around this or do you HAVE to have 3 gold accs to do it legit?

So basically had the other two chars on my team doing nothing, with me as Leon against all three bots.

Was pretty close but I managed it in the end And on my first attempt too
