Achievement Guide and Road Map

Introduction:
Welcome to this Fez Achievement Guide. I do not want to take much credit for wrapping this up really, the big thanks should go to everyone in here and on other forums that has provided us with all the details on how to solve each puzzle to get to the end (well, at the moment we’re still struggling on the ending, but that won’t stop you from getting the 200 gamerscores!

What is Fez?
Fez is a 2D platformer set in a 3D world. The world is 3D, but you always play from 2D perspectives. Each 3D world has 4 sides. You can freely “rotate” your point of view 90 degrees increments between these 2D perspectives. This way you will be able to navigate complex 3D environments, solve puzzles and find secrets.

The goal of the game is simply to explore and find treasures! Fez features a huge open world, dense with secrets and mysteries. There are many different areas, all of which can be explored in any order. There are no enemies in Fez. No bosses, no combat. In fact, no conflict of any kind. You can die, but there is no penalty for doing so. Fez aims to create a non-threatening world rich with ambiance, a pleasant place to spend time in.

Fez has won lots of lots of prizes even before being released, and now you finally get to play it. Lucky you.

Overview:
Estimated achievement difficulty: 2/10 if you use cheats and guide, 8/10 if you want to do everything by yourself and by the book.
Estimated time for 200: 5-6 hours (Note: In New Game+ you keep all collectibles from the first playthrough, and once you finish the game once you can fly (see below) which makes itsmartness.
Offline/Online: 200/0
Minimum playthroughs: 1 + partially, as there are puzzles you cannot solve on your initial playthrough.
Missable achievements: None.
Glitched achievements: 2. There is a glitch in the game that can give you 33 anticubes. If you get 33 anticubes before you get 32 normal ones, the achievement “Hexahedronaut” and “Sum total” will never unlock, forcing you to do another playthough.
Cheats disable achievements: No. Cheats does not work until you finish the game once and start a New Game Plus. The code you have to insert to fly is .


Ok, before we start the achievement guide, the following threads are invaluable if you want to quickly solve the puzzles.

Sum Total - 40
Find ALL collectibles.

This will be the very last achievement you’ll unlock. It requires you to find all collectibles in the game. These are the 32 normal cubes, the 32 anti-cubes, the 9 treasure maps and every artifact (there are 4 in total).

Get a Cube - 10
Find your very first cube shard.

The very first achievement you will unlock. When you’ve completed the intro and regain control of Gomez, simply pick up the cube shard in front of you to unlock this achievement.

Kill Screen - 25
Get to the end.

Story related. To get this, you have to collect 32 cubes and open the door that requires this number. When you do, you will get into the final world and once the credits start, you will get the achievement. When you are done, you can return to the game in New Game+ to complete any outstanding achievements and puzzles.

Hexahedronaut - 25
Collect all 32 Golden Cubes and 32 Anti-Cubes.

Haikus not epics - 10
Find the Tome artifact.

There are four artifacts in the game, each with their own achievement. They are not very hard to come by, especially if you use the thread listed above. To find the Tome Artifact you have to go to the museum (near the clocktower) and push the bookshelf in to reveal a secret room. Within this room there is a chest, open it and the artifact is yours.

Phrenologist - 10
Find the Skull artifact.

Mightier than the sword - 10
Find the Writing Cube artifact.

A numbers game - 10
Find the Counting Cube artifact.

Equal and opposite - 15
Find an Anti-Cube.

Can be done in the very first level, after you gain the ability to change perspective in the game. By inserting the code “RT RT LT RT RT LT LT LT” you will unlock both this achievement and the “Achievement Unlocked” achievement which you get for inserting the code above.

Warp zone - 15
Reactivate all 5 warp gates.

This should unlock naturally as you progress through the world. There are 5 main areas in the game, with several worlds around them, and once you enter the 5th world, this achievement will unlock. A map on where to find these, and how to unlock it will come soon, but as I said this should come naturally as you progress through the game.

Cryptographer - 15
Break the code.

This can also be done in the first level. Enter the house with a big picture of a guy wearing a monocle. Insert the following code “RT RT LT RT LT LT RT” to unlock both an anti-cube and this achievement.

Achievement unlocked - 15
RTRTLTRTRTLTLTLT

Can be done anywhere in the game. Simply insert the code in the achievement description “RT RT LT RT RT LT LT LT” in the game to unlock an anticube. If this is your first anti-cube, you will also get “Equal and opposite”, which requires you to find an anti-cube.

Phrenologist is the alien skull artifact, I know you got it after swimming across a red ocean for like a full minute and opening the chest on a tiny platform.

Also, it's inaccurate to say "This is the first artifact you will get" for the Tome, since you can get them in any order.

Good guide so far for me the glitched 33'rd anti cube came from the clock where i got a total of 4 anti cubes from it.

If you could add that you can only use the cheat to fly in new game +
I was trying a few times pressing up up up up A, wasn't working.

And is there an interactive map? Click on a node and videos show how to get everything in that room?

This should now be complete, I think. Might create a more detailed guide on collectibles at a later time, but for now the thread in the forum is more than good enough.

Can someone please clarify the glitched achievement. Which Anti-Cube should we avoid? I mean the extra one in the game. Number 33.

I have somehow have 33 Golden cubes from the owl puzzle somehow, Im still finding the 32 anti cubes (not using any guides), but when I hit 32, am I gonna not get any achievements?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: Yeah, I got the last Anti-Cube (32) and it didnt pop, Im debating whether I should wait for the patch thats in certification atm, or do another playthrough. Sighs...

At least I have the joy of knowing what to do this time around xD

Was thinking about picking this game up. I was watching the Indie Game documentary and the guy seems like a total suicidal douche.... but his aggravation seems warranted at times.... still crazy though.

This guide says that the achievements Sum Total and Hexahedronaut are glitched if you acquire 33 anti-cubes before you collect the 32 regular cubes, however this is not true. I just unlocked both the achievements after I found my last cube piece to make me have 32 cubes and 33 anti-cubes. Just wanted to let you know that this glitched achievement might have been fixed in a patch.

Thought I'd post, since I just started this game and wanted to see what I was in for.

The explanation for "Get a cube" is wrong. You need to collect all 8 pieces to form the first cube, not just pick up the one in front of you at the start. The video is fine, so maybe the wording is just weird. It also wasn't my first achievement (4th actually)
