Just relax. I chose to get this achievement right when I got to the first town in Act I. That way, even when I didn't get the achievement, I was still making money. When I lost, I re-loaded. I got the achievement on my 41st or 42nd victory, and had around 2000 coins to spend. Granted, it was a moot point because I started over, but the goal of getting money allowed me to bypass some of the frustration because I was still accomplishing something.

I gave up... what ever maybe after I beat the game I'll try it again. My patience is little with "luck achievements". Hell Rage had one and it was easier than this shit...

I finally got this, after around my 50th attempt. I just kept doing what the video showed. I was getting frustrated, but I didn't give up. Eventually, I got the 5 of a kind, and the achievement popped.

I seriously hate this achievement. So little thought put into how frustrating it would actually be for gamers.

An achievement solely based on luck? Check
Going through 2-5 seconds to even get to the game each time? Check
An unGodly slow movement with the dice? Check
An opponent who will resign if you get 4 in a row the first time? Check

I really, really, REALLY hate when developers do this shit.

I went back to just rolling the dice also. Finally got the damn thing after approximately 90 minutes of trying. I really, really hate achievments like this with the worst one ever being the random drop collectible achievement in the Borderlands dlc. Achievements based on luck need to die a terrible death.

Played about ~70 times and nothing. The best I got was 4 of a kind and nothing better. The "exploit" video is bullshit, you need the dice to allign in the right order to get at least 3 or 4 right dices.

The recorders just lucked out and got this because of mad luck.

This is why people resort to achievement editors and other bullshit, when developers feel smart by putting completely luck based achievements in games.

there is no "glitch". moving the dice into a corner does not even change the sides of the dice or rotate them, so this is the same as throwing them in the middle. you were just lucky that it worked for you, nothing else.

I agree on the totally luck portion. I just got the achievement and it took me roughly 60 times until I got it. There is no "exploit" by dragging them to the edge and barely rolling because it all depends on how the dice get shuffled when u first start the game. Patience and persistence are key. Achievements based on luck are horrible

plus he seems to fold anytime i get a 3 of a kind as well.

this would be better if they couldn't resign at all.

Finally! Almost pissed myself out of joy. Did the Poker Face: Vergen quest, and got it randomly.

Talk about being lucky, because it was only my 3rd game today.

it is difficult guys..but it's still not that bad...because you will make money as you do this...and you'll get the achievement it's luck based yes..but i think this is the easier way...i just got lucky i guess..but other people posted saying they got it quick with this method -_-

Got it after about 100 tries. Also my first achievement - I just had to get it out of the way, before I could concentrate on the rest of the game.

At least the rest of the achievements shouldn't be anywhere near as tedious as this one. Heck, all achievements for all the upcoming games of 2012 shouldn't be anywhere near as tedious as the poker!-achievement for The Witcher 2

luck based achievements should be outlawed. I have now been at this a total of 7 hours and have had no luck at it. The method in the video does nothing to help. at most it has given me a three of a kind every tenth try.

this mini-game is seriously turning me off from the entire game to the point i might just stop playing it all together.

I tried your method out a number of times in the first tavern in the game with no luck. Fast forward to Henselt's camp in Act 2 and I got it my first try after realizing I was getting 4/5 of the same numbers in one roll pretty consecutively against Lasota...not sure if that helped at all but barely tapping the right analog stick against him generally had much better results than against anyone else I've played. Sadly, he backs out of games he knows he will lose, making a second roll impossible, BUT using your method on the first roll got the achievement for me Thanks.

I wasted a lot of time doing this "trick" but got it playing normally. It's all random and the people that got it to work are lucky.
