That's the attribute of the Very Hard costumes (Super Vergil and Super Dante), if I remember correctly. The DMD! costumes do give you true infinite DT: no drainage from a DT Flux and it heals and if I'm right, those costumes are called Super Nelo Angelo and Super Sparda.

Here's what I found in a FAQ on those two:

Super Sparda and Super Nelo Angelo
-Super Sparda and Super Nelo can be earned another way. If you skipped
over Very Hard Mode, the only way you'll earn these "Super" versions
on DMD is if you have Bloody Palace cleared. Otherwise, you have to
have Very Hard cleared before clearing DMD. Then again, if you skip
both Very Hard and Bloody Palace you earn Super Dante or Super Vergil
for clearing DMD. Doing it this way forces you to clear Bloody Palace
for Super Sparda and Super Nelo.

1000/1000. I'll probably go back to DMC1 for a Hard and DMD! SB run and I might do some SS stuff on DMC3, so is there anything you guys would like to see for the guide?

Skimmed through and didn't see anyone post this, so I figure I'll go ahead and chime in. I was able to get All S-ranks on easy mode using Super Sparda. It apparently doesn't stop you from getting S-ranks (at least on easy?)

The increased run speed definitely helps get the missions done extra quick. You just have to taunt a LOT to get those extra stylish points. I also used Royal Guard (which was a life saver on DMD for me. It made the chess board so much easier to handle) to get some extra stylish points. Running through the level like a mad man (grabbing orbs of course) and trying to get some decent combos on the weak enemies was more than enough. Got a few SS ranks in there as well.

Thought I should mention this. When I unlocked the Hot as Hell achievement on DMC 1 I went ahead and switched my weapon to Alastor and got the Thunderstruck achievement without having to do another S combo. Don't know if that's a glitch but feel like it's worth mentioning nontheless.

The 1000 took me less than 100 hours. I'd say the estimated time would be about 80-100 hours. took me 20-25 for 1 20-25 for 2 and 40-50 for 3.

What Jello said, You can use super characters for S(even SS) ranking missions in DMC 3. At least super Dante.

I think it's worth noting that DMC 2's Must Die mode can definitely be done as Trish on Lucia's disc without buying any items. You'll use the gold orb a few times, but you can replace that by starting mission 1 and grabbing a new one. I just finish it this way. Mission 12 with that triple head bastard was the only one I failed (twice!). What I ended up doing was just rolling back and forth in the middle the whole time. Take note of the ice spikes that get dropped and slowly pick off all but one each time you get a little breathing room (like when a head comes close and misses). By leaving one, you keep the ice head from dropping more. you don't want a pile of them when the heads finally join because of the shit auto targeting system on it. When you see the heads joining, kill that last spike, jump, DT, and unload with Trish's laser attack (Offense Heart equipped). I think twice was enough to kill it. The run that I actually finished him, I even survived without the gold orb somehow.

For some reason I am unable to use the agni and rudra swords, in DMC 3. I can select the Ceberus weapon, but not these swords for some reason.

Is there a road map for DMC 2. I've almost done number 1 and starting on 2 now but not sure what character to be and what the best and quickest way is to complete all achievements. Don't really want to play the game through lots of times as DMC 2 isn't that good.
