best squad bonus power and weapons

I'm going to start my insanity play trough with my level 56 sentinel soon. What is the best bonus power to assign to my Shepard and what are the best weapons to give to Garrus and Liara?

If you want to can use Defense Matrix and stack it with Tech armor to make you impossible to killl. As for weapons give Garrus a Javelin and Liara a Scorpion.

You're gonna get a whole multitude of opinions with a question like that..

Power depends on your playstyle, and how likely you are to need the extra health boost that something like fortifiction or defence matrix offers. Or whether you want something more offensive. Energy drain is always a good one.

As for weapons, I'd give Liara the Paladin, as upgraded as you can get it. And for Garrus either the Widow/BW/Javelin.

i really like energy drain, does good damage against shielded enemies while it recharges your own shield

As a Soldier, I found that Bonus Powers were generally irrelevant.

Like River Said, Pretty much just use whatever power Suits your play style best.

I switched powers 3 or 4 times before setting on Defense Matrix.

For what it's worth, I played through insanity with a Sentinel as well and the bonus power I chose was Reave, and used Liara and EDI as a team whenever possible. Reave works great on Banshees' and Brutes' armor, plus EDI has Incinerate, Liara has Warp, and you plus Liara have Biotic Explosion every 2-3 seconds. I found it to be an easier experience than ME2.
