Level 38 no Skill point?

EDIT: Discovered this is a "glitch" that occurs when you level up with all skills maxed (even if they are maxed via green bonus's)

I just reached level 38 and didn't get a single skill point... is this normal? (I was Polymath destiny and with all the green skills, maxed out if that counts)

Edit: Reloaded a save before leveling up and changed my Destiny so I didn't have "all skills maxed out" Leveled up and got a skill point. (Had to reload save, just backing out of level up screen and changing my destiny didn't work)

Never level up with all your skills maxed (this could potentially happen a lot earlier with someone who has the compass of fate, or used the final trainers...)

I've only reach 36 this sounds interesting I will keep an eye out for this

It turns out its a "glitch" to prevent a currently unreachable problem.

If all your skills were maxed out (not counting green bonus's to skills) and you leveled up, having 1 skill point that you couldn't use would prevent you from completing the leveling up process.

Of course, since there are 9 skills with 10 levels each You would have to first get 90 skill points.

You start off with 4, depending on your race.
You gain 1 per level so thats another 40
There are 4 trainers for each skill, so thats an additional 36
And finally there is 1 skill book for each skill: + 9

So unless there is a way to make skill points I don't know about thats 89 skill points - 1 short of being able to suffer from being unable to level up.

On the plus side, at least we now know that if the level cap is raised, maxing out all your skill points wont prevent you from leveling up

How do you get all your skill points maxed anyway? It sounds like there is some sort of specific combination of training, leveling, and skill book use to get those 88/89? points. Can you screw it up? I am about level 17 right now with detect hidden (lorestones) at 10 and persuasion at like seven and some sagecraft and blacksmith. I'm quite obsessive and want to be able to take the right steps now rather than tr to fix it later. Am I over analyzing it? Will the just fill naturally as I level? I can't find a guide or explaination as how to best maximize the points. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's not unreachable, there is another trainer for 3 of the skills in the Dead Kel DLC. They knew that would be the case and planned for it.

I am playing this on the PS3 and i just reached level 33. I planned out each skill point along the way. I used all trainers for 0-3 skill level (2 trainers for each skill) and 4-6 skill level (1 trainer for each skill) and the skill book for each. At level 33 I did not receive a skill point i would assume it was due to having the polymath destine which gives +2 to all skills.
