Is watching anime on Blu-ray substantially different (quality wise) than watching anime on a DVD? I know Blu-ray is in HD and everything, but you'd think there wouldn't that much difference. Or am I wrong?
My anime DVD collection isn't that big anyway, but I would imagine it must be a pain in the ass for those that have bought hundreds of anime DVDs over the years, then Blu-ray comes along and says, "Those six DVDs in a box set you bought? Blu-ray has all that on one disc, bitch!" I don't know if I would have it in me to re-purchase anime titles I already have and replace them for Blu-ray versions. :/

While I have a few bluray anime sets I haven't watched any of them yet.
The difference tho im sure is small. Its not like when we went from VHS to DVD. That was a HUGE difference. About the only thing I appreciate is that it takes 8 DVD boxsets and reduces them. Just such a space saver. |

WalMart has a tonne of new Pokemon toys and they are all pretty much $5.00. I've been buying too many lately. I need to play Black or White because I don't even know who half of them are....

Ive never bothered with Blu Ray. I'm perfectly happy watching my anime (or anything else) on my DVD player. If I have prolonged exposure to Blu Ray quality footage then maybe I'll start to see DVD as inferior and switch. But as it stand the only comparison point is worse quality videos I watch on my computer, so DVD comes off pretty well. It's like how PS2 graphics looked fine at the time, but if you look at them now after all these years of 7th gen they look shitty.

wow you got some stuff there otaking mate love the updated pics...I'm only 3 titles from having 2000 different anime titles..can't wait ..got many more coming in the mail so the question is which will be lucky 2000 he..picked this up today didnt even know it exsisted.

Wow! That's impressive. i'm nowhere near that level but I'm pretty poor so I can never really afford to buy stuff like that trying to go to school and such.. So jealous. xD Just curious but what was that big Death Note box for?

Picked up a Pikachu 3DS XL and a Yotsuba figma off AmiAmi, but it's yet to arrive.
Otaking, that's a mighty impressive collection. Thought that LuckyStar box said Bible Black under it for some reason but I was mistaken.

Nice stuff guys. I wish I could've bought more figures, but it just burnt a hole in my wallet, and I couldn't afford to drop $100+ per figure anymore... $1,000 being the most expensive figure I owned at the time. For some reason, I can't find a picture of the one I owned, so click HERE for a very similar one that melonpan owned (the only other person I know of who has owned this specific figure at some point). It's the one on the left, Haruhi.
I also have a modified Galactic Yuki figure, which is the one next to Haruhi from that picture. I still have that one, I personally prefer the dark version. You can see that image HERE. This figure cost around $250-300. There was only one other figure I owned that cost over $300, and that would be another Yuki figure I had. The link for that one can be found HERE. This figure costs $500 as far as I remember. Altogether, I spent in the ballpark of $10,000 on figurines alone at the time, I most definitely can't afford to buy them all again lol, especially the ones I had custom-made for me. Dakimakura's (body pillows) aren't very expensive, unless you want the official ones from Japan. Those tend to cost upwards of close to $200 without the pillow, I only had 1 that was official, unfortunately. =/

I've just recently started collecting a few things this month. I want as much as you. Atm I just have: Limited edition Lucky Star DVDs vol 1, 2, 3, 5 (they're super cheap on Amazon. i'm wearing the t-shirts that came with em too. thinking about ordering second copies to keep sealed.) Vol 1-4 of K-On manga Vol 1 and 2 of Oreimo manga K-On Romeo Mio figure Akihabara Memories Kirino figure Karen Araragi Figma Chiaki Minami Nendoroid About to pre-order the Hidamari Sketch Yuno figma as well. I'd also love the SAO Asuna one :/
