Question about my Health
Just got the game and gotta say Im in love. I am wondering about one thing. Everyone I talk to is telling me I look sick or unwell. Am I missing something? Do I need to get cured and if so where? Thanks!

Chances are that you have some kind of disease.
Go to magic, then active effects to see what you have. You can cure most diseases very easily with a potion of cure disease, or by using a shrine to one of the gods.

HAHAHA. Dude, my friend had the exact same issue. We were playing together online and he kept telling me how people were being rude to him, saying he was all ugly and stuff. I was laughing at all the funny dialogue and felt left out cuz no one in my game ever commented on my appearance. At first we thought it was cuz he made a really ugly character in the customization screen at the beginning of the game. Then I walked by a shrine, and it occurred to me that maybe he had a disease so I asked him to check and sure enough, that was it.
Kinda wished there was some sort of persistent notification on the HUD if you're poisoned or diseased, like maybe a red outline around the compass, or something like that. I have definitely contracted diseases in dungeons, but then totally forgot about it when I left. |

I go to the shrine where that guy's always yelling, near the Companions main building...names??? He's standing in front of it but I go there after going out and coming back, just in case.

Sometimes it does not mean anything, for instance the lady who owns the alchemy shop in whiterun always tells people they look sick or pale, even if you have no diseases. If everyone is saying it though, chances are you picked up some disease from somewhere.
That is why you should always use protection. I know it may feel better to stab your bare sword into a skeever with no form of protection but they are filthy creatures and should not be trusted when they say they have just been tested and are clean. Luckily all you need to cure yourself is a cure disease potion or a shrine, you filthy dragonborn deviant. |

Sweet thanks, twice I've been attacked by animals and it's said you now have X but other than that I see no effect. It sucks because both times I was blocking

like somebody mentioned check the "active effects" in the magic section of your menu, that helped a lot when i found this out. nomatter the shrine you pray to, you will be cured of all desieses and such. different shrines give you other temp effects, you can also check what the "blessing" gave you on the magic section of your menu. **oh and dont worry about arcadia (potion shop in Whiterun). everybody who walks in her shop has "ataxia" lol Last edited by niko da bos; 12-27-2011 at 08:04 PM. |
