Grand Theft Auto 5: Likely Release Date 24th May 2012 (Speculation)

There are a few Videos on YouTube speculating the Release Date of GTA V.

This Video explains some of the reasoning behind peoples belief that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on the 24th May 2012.

Some of the "evidence" is a bit of a stretch but most of it seems pretty plausable.

He's right I've never seen a game come out on thursday, it's friday in UK and tuesday in US. Though all the signs referring to may 24th are pretty strong if you ask me but thing about it for a second.. May 24th 2013 IS A FRIDAY! Push the date a year ahead and we have a possibility..a shitty possibility but still..

Tuesdays in America.

Fridays in UK.

That pattern was broken in Q4 2011, when games like Uncharted & Ass Creed were released on Wednesday...

How can you come out and say that isn't the release date? Granted, it probably won't be, but even so, there's a possibility.

And my bet is 10th anniversary of Vice City.

For me to say that a game to come out on a Thursday was easy, no game comes out then

Most of the team have been free since the end of RD:R so they have been working longer than 6 month.

I definitely don't think that, especially with games the scale of GTA. But after how well RD:R did on its release in the Summer, I wouldn't knock the idea of it being in Summer.

Either that or its gonna be October, but what ever the date is, its certainly not on May 24th this year.

Max Payne 3 is going to be their summer hit this year and it looks great.

I really hope GTA:V has a fall release but I imagine it will be spring 2013. I can't wait!!!

Indeed it is. I doubt they'd leave it till next year to release GTA:V because if.the new Xbox is to come out next year, then it'd be pointless to release until the new console is out.

You make a fair point there, XBOX 3 really does complicate things. GTAV & Halo 4 are really on the fence in terms of release.

Halo 4 comes out this year and its a separate part of Rockstar that makes GTA. They may not have as many studios as say EA or Ubisoft but have enough to push multiple projects at a time.

I know they are. Halo 4 doesn't have a set release date, as far as I'm aware. Just the mention of 2012. Nothing to confirm that GTAV is 2012 either. So have as many studios as you like, but until there is a set release then there will forever be speculation on dates.

Except GTA 4, Dead Rising 2, Dead Island and most other games.
What people are forgetting, is that just because games are released on Tuesdays and Fridays in the US and UK, it doesn't mean that things are released those days in the rest of the world.

Modern Warfare 3 was an exception to the rule by being released around the world on Tuesday, 8th of November. Of course, though, it was released on Wednesday the 23rd in Australia on Wii.

In Japan, GTA IV released on the 30th of October 2008, which is a Thursday.
It is perfectly possible to find the game releasing on Thursday, Skyrim was released on Friday in the US and UK.

Think people! Think! It's 100% possible for this game to come out on May 24th 2012. Whether it will come out or not is a completely different story. Sure enough, the time frame is about right, but with Max Payne coming out in May and no new news, we have no real idea about when it'll release.
