Use afterburners. I made the same sorta thread earlier i sucked couldn't even take off! now its so good. hover mode rapes ground troops and getting behind jets and choppers with hear seekers they have no chance!

FUCK the F35! this thing cant fly for shit.. it gets out manuvered by the su-35 soooo easily!!! Im not going to say that im the shit at flying but I def. get atleast 2 kills everytime im in the jet but this thing just cant keep up with the other jets. Using the hover mode is pretty sweet but it makes you a sitting target for everyone!

a jet is just a flying engineer i take out jets, heli's, tanks, buggys and people what more do u want me to do?

jets can help out a team massively if they are used right

Lol!! I have tried to fly this thing twice..it wasn't pretty. I think I went straight up in the air as soon as I got off the ground, and then as you can guess..straight down into the ground. It's really pathetic..lol

I'm just coming up to 30 mins in jets and I still have no kills and zero score. The only problem I have found now is no matter how many times I get in a jet as soon as I'm in the air, I get shot to pieces by an 'Ace' who has all the unlocks.

43 mins in jets and 1 kill. i did get all my current unlocks in about 3 mins of domination, up to the guided missile. even with guided missiles and flares i still get wasted by anyone with even the slightest decorum in air vehicles. fuckin' sucks, or, more specifically, i fuckin' suck.

What button triggers "hover mode" for the F35? I tried getting a kill in that POS plane for over an hour and couldn't do it. I just don't know how DICE thinks that anyone is supposed to be able to do anything in the jets if there are people with better equipment unlocked also in the air. Maybe I could at least get the one kill I need if I could hover for a few seconds hah.

Thanks, but at this point I'm willing to try hovering to see if I can get an infantry kill even if I have to die a few times first. Not any different than me flying around trying to kill other pilots and dying all the time lol.

Hovering will only help if you have a good sight on an anemy from a decent height, otherwise I would try to learn to properly fly so you can try and take down another jet with heat seekers.

I do know how to fly, it's not like I crash on take off or lose control in the air. The problem is that without unlocks, I'm left trying to machine gun enemy pilots which doesn't work that well. Or maybe it would work, if every enemy pilot didn't have heat seekers unlocked. Sure, I can break target locks sometimes, but most of the time I get nuked.

I would agree with this if only for the shitty turning radius the F-35 has, I think it's severely behind the normal jets in dogfighting ability.

Honestly though, the conquest jets are useless against ground troops. I'm assuming the vast vast majority of those vehicle destroys are other jets, which in turn do nothing against ground troops either. It takes something like 3 strafing runs to disable a tank with the conquest ones. The rush ones are more the vehicle destroying ones, they can disable a tank in one run. You'd be far more useful on the ground. It's a shame that the jets are so damn fun though .

I have to say the F-35 sucks, I tried learning to fly a jet for the past few days using the F-35 and no luck. I get in another jet on a non BTK map and within a few minutes I get the hang of it. Only issue is trying to get a kill when you only have guns lol.

finally got my F35 kill. on gulf of oman, conquest. right at the end of the match, i was getting shot down and with about 40% health i managed to steer into a sukhoi pilot, killing us both and getting a F35 kill.

I've learned to fly the plane but by the time I spot some ground infantry to kill I'm already being taken out by other air vehicles and have to bail lol

Same here. Jets would be so much better if it were even remotely possible to put up some kind of defense from the start. it seem more often then not as soon as I am in the air I get locked and shot down.

Fighting on the ground when the enemy has more unlocks is at least doable. You can flank and maneuver around with a squad to even the odds but when you are in a jet it s pretty much 1v1 and if they have anything unlocked you stand almost zero chance.

In all the time me and my friends have been flying jets, probably 3 hours between us, the only points have been by total accident. I was on Wake Island and an enemy happened to run in front of the hanger as I was leaving. Great roadkill but unfortunately not something to rely in for building points.

Not impossible. Just not everyone is very adept with the jets. I've been playing this game since day one and am still just awful. Only recently started becoming confident as a chopper pilot after finally dipping into Fire from the Sky in Co-Op. Good mission for practice. Sadly no missions include jets to practice on. Would have been nice.

I have 52 minutes in jets and only one kill. Got that kill in the F-35 for Third Tour when strafing a guy running across the beach, then promptly and unintentionally crashed into a building when trying to pull out of the dive. Haven't touched a jet since.

I had to resort to a kind of dick move to unlock the flares and heat seekers for the jet. I flew to the enemy base and landed near the end of the runway. As soon as I saw someone running towards the jets I hit the gas and the guns and rammed them to death. I usually blew up but at least it let me unlock what I need to actually stand a chance flying in the air.
