Best approach to 'Finale'?
The last level is pretty brutal... so I was wondering, which one of the two obvious approaches to it is best? Block off most of the paths to force the enemies down just one heavily-trapped gauntlet - and try to deal with the occasional Sapper-rushes as best you can (which almost certainly involves a certain amount of frantic rebuilding), or attempt to trap ALL of the approaches, manually activating the the rolling logs and Ballistas to deal with overwhelming attacks?
So far, I've only completed it on 'Apprentice', and even there, it was tough - so I'm curious about how best to handle it when I try to five-skull all the levels on 'Warmage'... |

If you are just trying to 5 skull, the best way is to bring in decoys, paladins and fire archers. put decoys in each door way and a few paladins. Then archers in the top part of the rift area.
If you use secondary freeze on large groups going in a circle around the rift and staying by the rift to recharge the mana faster than the paladins will kill them quick. Then melee with your sword. Then put some kinda wall device, I'd prefer the wall blades as they kill large groups of orcs fast. and brimstone. Put the decoy by the wall blade so the orcs will get killed there and attacked by the paladins |

I tried every strategy I could find online and none of them worked for me, so I tried not buying any Weavers and right from the beginning blocking up any entrance way with maces, and I got the 5 skulls my first try. Just make sure you put tar traps under the mace, and have the upgraded mace. When you got all that set up I just put Paladins in front of every entrance, and when they were filled I just wasted money on the arrow wall trap, but the grinder or knife might work better.

Brimstone on the Bottom to kill off the first waves on all 4 sides. Reinforce upstairs with Paladins and clockworkmaces. Upgrade with knowledge weaver to make things easier on you and use Mushrooms against the ogres. With this strategy you have to fight a lot of orcs yourself in the first rounds, but you should manage after setting everything up. Upgrade weaver as soon as possible
