Dead Space 1 and 2. I think that from start to finish and the constant struggle to stay alive.
From Isaac's desperate attempts to find Nicole to being psychologically tormented by his past experiences on the Ishimura. Great story. Great games. |

Totally agree with you about mass effect. Halo:CE - Amazing campaign. Halo 2 - Equally good campaign. Loved the epic moments of giving the covernant back their bomb. Also jumping ontop of a scarab and fighting your way in and killing the driver. . |

Really enjoyed the ME1 storyline, a tad generic but you can't go wrong with epic sci fi and the fate of the universe.
-or- Morrowind from back in the day, I much prefered the storyline from TES 3 over 4, it actually felt like you were someone important with a real quest to perform and not the feeling of being the errand boy for every other NPC you meet I got from playing Oblivion. Mass Effect hands down. The most epic storyline I have ever played. I bought the first one after the second came out and I went through it a few times, and absolutely loved it, it had it's moments where you could clear out an area in seconds, and it had it's tactical moments. The story itself was pretty clear cut, find out what you're up against. I love the codex too, they put time into giving this game a realistic effect. Mass Effect 2 was even better, the loyalty missions gave you a background on all of your crew. The main storyline that will carry over to Mass Effect 3 is so hard to wait for knowing it's an all out war with the Reapers. Can't wait.

Being a massive sci fi fan i enjoyed Mass Effect 1, it was a nice take on the whole fate of the galaxy/cycle of life story line.
The halo trilogy was another favourite especially after reading Larry Niven's Ringworld, only a few months earlier. The Assassin's Creed franchise is another favourite, they work in well with historic moments, without being far-fetched or truth changing. My favourite would have to be Deus Ex, i loved the conspiracy/near future story and all the allusions to literature and real world paralles was well constructed. Best story to date.

Like many before me, Mass Effect. It will have a special hold on me for the rest of my life. Great Sci Fi storyline and it's one of the few games that made me care about my characters.
I've also always enjoyed the GTA storylines, I find them to be very well done and before IV, just far enough out of serious territory. Round that off with Resident Evil, Half-Life, Halo and Starcraft. Last edited by dwayne_hicks; 12-11-2011 at 11:42 PM. |

A tough choice, but out of all the games I've played I'll pick Red Dead Redemption. I don't think a game will ever produce the feeling I had when I was at the end of that story. The music played during that ride back, along with the emotion of the final scenes...just incredible.

Going with Oblivion.
But I've not played the big hitters - Batman, Gears, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, etc. So just chose from experience

I'd have to say Red Dead Redemption for one, I loved the overall atmosphere and plot twists within the game. Dead Space 2 was also very well done.

Metal gear solid 1= interesting and curious unpredictable characters, surprising, tense and un-cliched dialogue and events. A game blended with a movie.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn, and the Gears of War series have my favorite storylines.
![]() PoR and RD just amaze me with all the unique characters, and the intertwining plot between different people. (Ex: Soren and Ashnard.) Gears of War is just gritty, dark, and full of testosterone.

1. Uncharted - Such a fun and entertaining series of stories.
2. Bioshock - Great twists and a rich backstory make a creepy atmosphere. 3. Jericho - Interesting characters and interactions in such a scary setting 4. Condemned - On the trail with a Serial Killer Killer while the city goes to hell around you. 5. Alan Wake - Stories within stories within stories.

Dead Space. I enjoy the screwy religious undertones and the necromorphs, but I love the idea of mining. It seems like the most believeable reason we would be able to explore and sustain life in deep space. If we can't find find life on other planets, at least we could rape them of all valuable resources as we continue to make new discoveries.

I`d have to say lost odyssey has the best storyline for the 360, followed by Mass Effect and Bioshock

easily bioshock and bioshock 2:minervas den for so many reasons. The big moments in those story's still give me chills. shame originals ending was so disappointing next to the rest of the game, painted you as evil even if you only harvested 1 little sister and lasted about a minute despite the game lasting around 20-25 hours if you enjoyed everything. bioshock 2 was also excellent but imo falls short of the other 2 storys-fingers crossed for infinite.
half life 2, ep1, ep 2, portal and portal 2 are my other favs |
