what happens if you die but start over with an assault riffle on co-op does it mess up the achievement?

I don't know but I assume it would. The only way to know is to test it lol. The description says without "picking up," not "receiving." I would guess it would still work but I don't know. We need DarkReign to confirm for us.

i'll confirm if it works in about 45 minutes when i complete the level

I was going to test it, but since you're probably further along than I am I shall wait for a conclusion. I would think it would be fine since you're not actually picking up any weapons. It would really suck playing that level without a shotgun though. I commend you.

well i'm doing legendary co-op with a friends so if i die i respawn with an assault riffle, not really picking up a weapon but it would suck if it doesn;t work.

No worries guys, dying (and respawning with a different set of weapons) doesn't void the achievement.

Certainly, dude! Me and my co-op mate died a bunch, cos we were doing all sorts of rushing and "corner cutting".

And both of us got the achievement in the end. Yay!

Sweetness, that makes this one not a total bitch to get. Still annoying to only be able to use plasma pistol assualt and shotty throughout the entire level.

it works whooooooo just to let everyone know if doing this achievement on co-op and you die but respawn with an assault rifle the achievement will pop up at the end of the level assuming you don't pick up any other weapons. it helps to have the bandana skull on with infinite ammo.

Just out of curiousity, anyone know if you can pick up a new plasma pistol? Because technically you're not picking up a NEW weapon, just picking up ammo more or less for an existing one.

you can't swap your weapons at all as far as i know but i also had Bandana skull on so i didn't need to *troll face*

They honestly weren't bad at all without bandanna. There is PLENTY of shotgun ammo. I quite often had max ammo without even really trying. I didn't use rockets at all. Fewer explosions = less chance of a chain reaction death lol. Shotgun + magnum the whole way makes the library a breeze even on legendary. It helps that the shotgun has an insanely long effective range against the flood in CE.

Just played through, with Bandana skull on Heroic difficulty.
Did use the Banshee and Ghost.
Did not swap any weapons, only used the Shotty and PP from the start of the level, along with grenades.

Achievement didn't pop.

It does not affect it. However then you have to do it with an assault rifle instead of a shotgun. I would revert if you die

Tried again, but used two controllers and didn't touch the cheevo getting one at all, and fortunately it worked.

If you die and re-spawn in co-op it does not effect the achievement so long as you don't swap for any weapons.
