Achievement Guide and Road Map

Please do not steal this guide for your website without first asking me. This is my first attempt at a guide, so it won't be perfect. Any help from others will be credited in the guide.

Overview:
+Estimated achievement difficulty: 6/10
+Offline: 49 (990)
+Online: 1 (10)
+Approximate amount of time to 1000: At least 30 hours(as there is an achievement for this), but I am guessing more like 40-50
+Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 maybe 2 if you didn't save before act choice achievements
+Number of missable achievements: 1, at the end of Act 1 you have a choice to save or blow up a building, save before making the choice and then you only have to replay that mission to get the other achievement.
+Do cheat codes disable achievements? Yes, they disable achievements and autosaves
+Does difficulty affect achievements? No, can be done on Easy, Normal, or Hardcore
+Glitchy achievements? Yes, some issues with achievements not wanting to unlock, there are a few workarounds but nothing concrete from the developers yet.
Workaround 1: Save your game then dashboard and load it back up, this will sometimes pop the achievements you missed.
Workaround 2: If workaround 1 didn't work, then try clearing your cache as this has been said to help some people.

Introduction:
Saints Row: The Third is a sandbox game that is just over-the-top chaos and fun. Think GTA with dildo bats, zombies, advanced technology to the point of laser rifles and tanks, and of course Burt F'in Reynolds! This game doesn't take itself seriously, and because of this is just random fun and funny moments.

NOTE: You don't have to do anything in a specific order, but story does unlock more activities and gang operations, so you may want to run through story first.

Campaign: (Worth 310)
Pretty basic, just follow exactly what the game tells you to do. To start a mission open up your phone with the Back button, and it is the middle top. There is 1 point in the story to watch out for as you are playing:

Act 1:
When you have the choice to keep or destroy the building manually save your game as there is an achievement for each option.

Act 3:
When you have the choice to save someone or kill someone else, it doesn't matter which you choose as you can repeat this mission after beating it to do the other way.

Activities: (Worth 200)
There are 56 activities to do in this game. There are a couple that unlock special things for you, but nothing that special except a Tron looking bike and car for completing Cyber Trail Blazing. For help on each activity see the achievement below for that specific activity.

City Takeover: (Worth 180)
You have to fully takeover each district in the game, the things that add to this are:
Stores: Buy all of them
Properties: Buy all of them
Activities: Complete all of them
Gang Operations: Complete all of them (Some don't appear as icons on your map, so go to areas that are not purple and look for a large group of enemies there)

Mop-up:
Now that you have finished the storyline stuff, you have collectibles, challenges, hitman targets, chop shop, stunt jumps, and barnstorming to finish. For help on a specific one see that achievements below!

Conclusion:
Some of the cleanup achievements may take a while, other than that the rest are straightforward and pretty easy. This game is over-the-top insane fun, so go out and kill at your will!

In Act 1 when you have a choice to destroy the building or disarm the bomb, manually save your game as there is an achievement for each outcome, that way you only have to replay 1 mission.

Gotta Break Em In 25
Complete 'The Ho Boat'.

This is story related and unmissable

I Heart Nyte Blayde 25
Complete 'STAG Party'.

This is story related and unmissable

Complete Act 3 in another way.

Depending on which choice you make in Act 3 (Saving Shaundi or killing Killbane) you willget this or "Mr. Fury Would Be Proud". You do not have to make a manual save as it allows you to replay the last mission for the other achievement from your missions on your phone.

Hanging With Mr. Pierce 25
Complete all City Takeover gameplay in the Downtown district.

See the "Bright Lights, Big City" achievement.

Mourning Stars 25
Complete all City Takeover gameplay in the New Colvin district.

See the "Bright Lights, Big City" achievement.

Complete all City Takeover gameplay in the Stanfield district.

You're the Best... 25
Complete all City Takeover gameplay in the Carver Island district.

Bright Lights, Big City 80
Complete all City Takeover gameplay in the entire city of Steelport.

In order to 100% takeover an area you have to:
complete all activities
buy all stores
buy all properties
buy all cribs
Complete all gang operations

Ouch. 20
Complete all instances of Insurance Fraud.

Tips: I find it easiest to get in a car, drive to the closest highway and get out, then just keep comboing from car to car without touching the ground to get some nice scores.

Tune In, Drop Off 20
Complete all instances of Trafficking.

Tips: I find it easiest to do once you have upgraded weapons, and maybe even infinite ammo and/or no reload for a weapon. When you get to one of the locations, get out of your car as you will have access to your dual wielded weapons or heavier weapons. Also don't worry about taking a different car, you do not need to keep the starter car!

And Boom Goes the Dynamite 20
Complete all instances of Heli Assault.

Tips: When you are in the chopper without homing rockets, the machinegun is your best friend! The rockets take way to long to reach the ground, but 3-5 hits with your machinegun will take a car out. ALWAYS pay attention to your minimap and take out the helicopters as soon as you see them spawn.

Fence Killa 2011 20
Complete all instances of Mayhem.

Tips: Fences, trash cans, and other small items are your best friend. They may not give much money at the beginning, but they will increase your multiplier and start racking up mad points. Always check to see if you have the infinite rocket launcher, as that is the best way to go, if you don't then use your inifinite grenades!

Your Backseat Smells Funny 20
Complete all instances of Escort.

Tips: Drive fast, don't hit stuff, and stay on the road if you are the driver. Also do NOT fire at the targets you have to kill, this will decrease your pleasure bar, so instead just run them over. If you are the performer, just do what appears on your screen.

Double Dose of Pimping 20
Complete all instances of Snatch.

Tips: Drive fast, and use a 4 door car as you will be recruiting them 2 at a time. The drop off point will be insanity, so just smash through as once they are out of your car they are counted as collected, so get out of there!

Porkchop Sandwiches 20
Complete all instances of Trail Blazing.

Normal trail blazing Tips: Drive fast, run over all the flames on the ground, run into any cars you can without veering off path, and if you have nitrous in all vehicles use it!

Cyber trail blazing Tips: Get all the tanks you can, do not go through the giant flaming things, run over the small blue flames on the ground as they are just like the flames on the ground in normal trail blazing.

Go Into the Light 20
Complete all instances of Guardian Angel.

Tips: Pretty straight forward, snipe, or rocket launch. If you have the homing rockets use them on any vehicles!

Note: You will get this by progressing through story if you don't beforehand. (Thanks to Warren17 for reminding me of this)

Tank You Very Much 20
Complete all instances of Tank Mayhem.

Tips: Your main priority is the people or vehicles marked in red, but just like normal Mayhem, Fences, trash cans, and other small items are your best friend. They may not give much money at the beginning, but they will increase your multiplier and start racking up mad points.

Have A Reality Climax 20
Complete all instances of Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax.

Tips: This is much easier once you start getting immune to damages, if you have immunity to bullets, explosions, and fire all you have to worry about is the electricity Also, you do NOT have to kill all the brutes, they are infinite spawn, so book it past them once you unlock the exit.

Everything is Permitted 10
Kill all of the hitman Assassination targets.

Tips: Read the description of what you have to do when you enter the area.
If you finished all the ones you have, you may have to progress through the story more.

Hi-Jack It 10
Steal and deliver all Vehicle Theft targets.

Tips: You have to get one of the marked cars, you cannot use one that is already in your garage
You can use notoriety wipe through your phone (purchase it in your upgrades) to get rid of the stars from getting the vehicle. If you don't want to wait for the notoriety to decrease, you can save the game, dashboard, then load up the save and they will be reset.

Getting the Goods 10
Find 25% of all Collectibles.

See the "Life of the Party" achievement.

Life of the Party 20
Find 100% of all Collectibles.

Pretty straight-forward, there are 80 collectibles in the game. The easiest way to do this is when you hit respect level 20 you can buy "Collectible Finder" for $49,500 in the upgrade shop(Middle left icon in your phone) that will display any collectibles you haven't found on your minimap and even full map from your cell phone. You can alternatively use the interactive map by MSxbox-world found HERE but be warned it's currently buggy(thanks to Mister Buds for tip on it being buggy).

Shake and Bake 10
Complete your first Challenge.

See the "You're My Hero!" achievement.

You're My Hero! 30
Complete ALL Challenges.

To see what challenges are, bring up your phone with the back button and open up Saints Book, and they are all listed in there with stat tracker even. I will put a link to a challenge guide when there is one here.

Ow My Balls! 10
Do your first nutshot AND testicle assault.

Nutshot: Shoot them in the nuts
Testicle Assault: Click the right thumbstick while next to them, doesn't always do the testicle assault though.

Gender Equality 10
Play for at least 2 hours as a male character AND 2 hours as a female character.

You do not have to make different saves for this, just go to Image as Designed and change your sex there.

Bo-Duke-En 10
Hijack 50 vehicles - Dukes style.

Hijack 50 vehicles by running at them and pressing Y to jump through their window.

Love/Hate Relationship 10
Taunt AND/OR Compliment 50 gang members.

Compliment or taunt 50 gang members, even your own, by using left or right on the dpad.


Gellin' Like Magellan 20
Explore every hood in Steelport.

You will get this just driving around and doing missions, but if you want to get it quickly, just drive through each different hood on all the islands. Flying through them work as well.

Who Loves Ya Baby 10
Kill 50 brutes.

Brutes are the big enemies, that sometimes wield a minigun or flamethrower, just kill 50 of them.

A Better Person 15
Buy your first Upgrade from the Upgrade Store.

Once you level up your respect, bring up your phone with back and buy anything from the Upgrades section.

Haters Gonna Hate 15
Kill 1000 Gang Members.

Kill 1000 gang members, simple as that.

Cowboy Up 10
Fully upgrade one Weapon in each slot.

You go to Friendly Fire to upgrade your weapons, level 4 is fully upgradedfor everything except melee which is level 2. You have to have a weapon from each category (Melee, Pistols, SMG, Shotguns, Rifles, Explosives, Special, and grenade) upgraded.

Pimped Out Pad 10
Upgrade one Stronghold to its full glory.

Once you unlock Stronghold Customization through the story, you go to any of your strongholds (IE: Reactor) and hit Y to access crib while inside then click on Stronghold Customization and fully upgrade it.

Flash the Pan 10
Destroy all Gang Operations in Steelport.

There are 32 gang operations, you can view most by bringing up your map. However, some don't appear as icons on your map, so go to areas that are not purple and look for a large group of enemies there

Third and 30 40
Spend over 30 hours in Steelport.

Play the game for 30 hours.

Jumped In 10
Create and share a character online.

Go to any clothing store and select "Character Gallery" and link your account, then choose upload character.

Opulence, You Has It 10
Complete 'Party Time'

This is story related and unmissable

Stay Classy Steelport 10
Kill 25 Gang Members each with 'the Penetrator' AND the Fart in a Jar.

You can get far in a jar by upgrading the stun grenade to level 4. Once you have the penetrator and the fart in the jar, throw the fart and then kill the stunned enemy with your penetrator.

The American Dream 10
Customize 10 vehicles.

To customize a vehicle, bring it to rim jobs or select it in your garage and choose customize.

Just a small thing about the Stay Classy Achievement:

You can get the fart in a jar by upgrading the stun grenade to level 4. Also: you don't have to kill the enemy with the fart. You have to: throw the fart, and then kill the stunned enemy with your penetrator. Thats how I got it.

Great guide. I just finished the game and Never unlocked the Ho boat though. Luckily I have a separate save not to far before that mission started. I was playing offline when I beat it. Maybe thats connected to why it didnt unlock.

Yeah this is happening to a lot of people, happened to me on Tower Defense. It might be, there is no 100% explanation that I know of to why it happens.

That is the only mission you can replay, and says you can after you finish one side of it.

you have a good guide going but don't link to the ms-xbox world collectible map. it's terrible. i attempted to use it when i started the collectibles but it is a mess. pictures don't correspond with the correct locations and some of the pictures are in the wrong category (i.e. photo op picture in a sex doll location).

also, i'm eagerly awaiting a gang operation map.

Thanks for the tip, will make a note of that in the guide in-case there are some people who want to use it still. I just used the in-game Collectible Finder, so I didn't know it sucked. As for the gang operation map, I may work on one, but I haven't found them all yet.

Here's a little tip for anyone having trouble with Who Loves Ya Baby once you get a VTOL use it to go attack one of the gang operations. Just keep killing the gang members that show up and you should get 4 or 5 notoriety easily and they'll start sending out Brutes. Just keep using your missiles from the air on them and they won't even have a chance to harm you. I got the achievement easily doing this.

It's also good for Haters Gonna Hate and the kill gang specialists challenges since you can do it without very much risk to yourself if you find it difficult. I don't know about other difficulties but on easy they never even called in choppers to take me down even at 5 notoriety they just kept sending Brute trucks most of which spawned right in front of my cross hairs so it was lock, missile, repeat.

it depends on the gang you make mad. deckers i know do not use choppers. my only real question is, for cowboy up. can you use weapons that only have level1 upgrades? or do they all need to have the max number of upgrade slots?

Ah. Did not know that. Even still can the VTOL even be easily taken down by a chopper? I know I was getting shot from all angles during Convoy Decoy and never even took what remotely looked like major damage from VTOLs and tanks. So swatting an occassional chopper shouldn't be too much trouble.

make sure you get specialist kills before you clear out all the gangs.

You can always just get the gangs pissed off and the specialists will show up. I am only missing like four achievements and anytime I start a survival side mission I get brutes and specialists.
