The FAMAS

I'm just curious about what everyone's thoughts are in regards to the FAMAS. I have used most of the Assault Rifles, Carbines, PDWs, and SMGs, and I have to say that the FAMAS is far and away my least favorite. Between the absolutely horrible iron sight and the INSANE recoil, I find this weapon to be downright useless in my hands.

It's insane rate of fire is where the Famas shines. Slap a Foregrip and a Laser Sight on it and play TDM or Domination and you should have 5 service stars in no time. Also never let the magazine get completely empty as it has one of the longest reload times when empty. If it becomes too much of a hassle then just don't use it

I did not cast my vote, I think it is an mediocre AR and it has it uses but I would rather use another AR (AUG A3) or PDW when playing Assault.

I was going to post about how I only have ten kills with the Famas, which were earned with the intention of unlocking the related achievement.

However, upon looking at my battlelog... it would seem as though I have 111 kills with this piece of shit.

I guess I must have given it a fair chance at some point, before determining that it is, in fact... a piece of shit.

it all depends on how you use it. if you use it like all other assault rifles, yes it is a piece of shit. with this weapon you never want to fire more then a 3-4 round burst if the person is more then like 15 meters away. it can be very effective doing this, as the FAMAS is on the same level as every other assault rifle---damage wise. in any CQ engagements, just full auto that bitch, as it has the fastest TTK in the entire game. There shouldnt be many CQ engagements lost. As Drew stated, this weapon does have a horrible reload time. I would suggest bringing a long a sidearm that packs quite a punch. If you're accurate a trex or magnum will do fine, if not, i would use the 93r or one of the g18 variants. You will be using your sidearm much more frequently then normal with that reload time. Hope this helps. I also didnt vote because I dont think its amazing or rubbish.

I can appreciate the insane rate of fire except that it comes with a hefty price in recoil. I just finished earning my mastery tags with the AUG A3 and I've definitely taken a liking to it as well as the L85A2. Both weapons perform quite well at all ranges, even whilst using the suppressor.

The FAMAS and the KH2002 are the only 2 Assault Rifles that I have not earned Mastery Tags with. I'm not looking forward to using either of these two...

I will definitely heed your suggestion in regards to the sidearm though. I used to have a thing for the .44 Magnum, and then I discovered the MP412 Rex. The downside is that I already have my mastery tags with the .44 and the Rex, but I will definitely use that time to finish up my 1911 and my S-TAC.

I don't use the Assault Class often, but when I do, I AN-94.

If some Assault class be needed I may go back to the KH2002 at some point to give the 94 a rest and let my bolt actions get higher on my list (5,6,7 all bolts now). But ... AN-94 will get lonely

i dont really switch weapons anymore. after i mastered them all i just use my favorites now. those being an-94 (assault) qbz (engi) pp2000/870 (support) l96/ump (recon)

Famas sucks, do to it being French and we all know the French can't fight so that means they never use weapons so their weapons suck lol.

I got the most use with a laser sight and hip firing on Close Quarters maps. It's great for that, but I wouldn't use it as an all purpose assault rifle.

I don't use assault ALL that often - but I pretty much relied on the FAMAS for the longest time - it was one of my favorite guns, especially for picking off people at mid/long-range (with an ACOG). I'm sure there were better weapons, but I usually just find one I like and stick with it for... ummm...ever. (Until an achievement says otherwise)

After getting repeatedly owned though I've fallen in love with the AN-94 I think it is, love the iron sights on it too. It has since replaced my FAMAS, though I may go back to it.

The only attachment that I have unlocked is the ACOG, but once I unlock the Laser Sight, you can be damn sure that I'll be hip firing my way to the finish line.

I also want to take back any mean things that I might have previously said about the KH2002. That gun is a muthafucking beast!

You mean the PP19 right? It's the PP90 model in that other game. A cylindrical magazine is a pretty cool idea, looks funky. Can't argue with 55 round capacity.

As with most AR's the Kobra/Reflex ain't so bad on the Almost Famas once they're unlocked.

The KH2002, I just remember hating it, but that was before I started using the AN-94 too, so really never gave it a fair shake truthfully. Have switched it over as my main Assault gun for now to have another go.

I need 215 more kills to unlock the KOBRA Sight, but I suppose that in 30 more kills, that I could make it work with the RDS.

I don't think that a 2-shot burst AR is the best weapon of choice for a close combat match, but I still had a lot of success using it at all ranges yesterday. Now if I can manage to finish a match without crashing/getting dropped, then the KH2002 might work it's way deeper into my heart.

The KH2002 and the AN-94 are very similiar. I prefer the AN-94. My suggestion is to bring dat m26 mass with you. That's what I do unless I need smoke (for rush and getting past a spawn trap on metro). When your are in close quarter situations, use the mass and then switch back to your AR.

When I was playing BF3 the FAMAS was definitely one of my favourites. I found the Assault class to be the best in the game by a long shot.

Famas was a BEAST before the patch the kh2002 is alright but I love the l85a2 the most.

Ohhhhhhh.... yes, that must've been it! I didn't realize they patched it, but that'd totally explain why I don't rock anymore with it- It was one of the first guns I think I got stars on (besides the M-variant rifles). I thought that maybe I was just rusty since it had been months since I last played -- guess that 'splains it! Thanks!

Famas is only good on ziba use a lazer, or supp. and it can do some damage.

I just did 3-400 kills with it to get 1000 total kills and i have to say i started to like it, its still beast in close combat and for some reason on mid-range i got lots of headshots with it.

Yeah, 226 more kills with the M320 and I'll switch it up to the M26. Or I'll just wait until I grind out the mastery tags for the FAMAS, and then I'll use the M26 in conjunction with just that AR.

Probably because the recoil makes you aim up whether you want to or not...
