Digger execution not working? Please help?!

Sooo im trying to finish off the execution cheevo (im aware that i can go in a private match and boost this)..however id rather just go into the campaign and one off it instead of sitting in a room killing 40 guys...when im in campaign w/the digger and go up to execute and hold y it puts me into the punching their face in thing not the execution, ive had no problems with any other weapon..so basically just asking if im doing something wrong or if there is anything diff about this one weapons execution...sorry for rambling...thanks for any and all help!

I thought you had to unlock the execution for each weapon.

You can do some if not most/all of them in the campaign.

I was having the same problem doing the execution with the one shot. Then i realized i was playing in arcade mode, went back to the main menu, did it the standard mode and it worked on the first try.
