Question about tower darkness

I've done 2 playthroughs, of the extreme moralities, and noticed how much darker the tower is on my "Corrupt" playthrough. I'm curious whether that solely has to do with your choice of mistress (Velvet certainly has "darker" things to buy, but I mean the lighting and coloration beyond those things is different) or a larger determinant of your corruption.

I guess what I'm asking is whether a corrupt-except-choosing-Rose castle would look the same as a Zero Corruption castle (same for pure-except-choosing-Velvet looking like a Full Corruption castle), or if there would be a difference.
