Is it me or are Penalty Kicks hard this time?

I can only hit one right up the middle. If I so much as hit the ball with as little power as possible and barely move the thumb stick the ball rockets off into oblivion. What's going on?

Imho nothing has changed compared to 11...
From what your writing - you didnt play 11, right?

Maybe you should search for the Fifa 11 Penalties Tutorial - everything is explained there.

Stop the 'needle' in the middle of the bar. The closer to the middle, the more accurate your penalty kick. While you do that, pick a side, because if you attempt to go left/right once the player is making the run up, chances are, the ball is going pretty straight.

From having several penalty shoot-outs in the demo, they actually seem to be a bit easier to me.

Maybe they've tweaked the settings to my advantage, but where in FIFA 11 I was often making the pens very saveable if the keeper went the right way, they now seem to be going right in the corner.

I'm also finding it easier to place it right in the corner, height is still giving me grief though.

Yes I did skip FIFA 11. FIFA 11 didn't seem to have enough of a draw over FIFA 10 for me to buy it but FIFA 12 looks outstanding and I'm very excited to pick it up. Guess I'll just keep practicing and look up FIFA 11 info up in the meantime

well they seem to be identical except for the score every time method i used to use in fifa 11 as im not scoring as much so maybe the keeper ai has been slightly improved but apart from that its like for like in penalties.
