Scoring with classic controls

I guess I'm old school, but I don't like playing with the RS, all for the classic controls, which is great against the CPU but get my ass handed to me online with stick players just using a flash deke to get around my goalie and then just slot it in for an easy goal.

I don't really wanna change my style, but I would like to challenge online for some achievements.

Has anyone got any tips for the best way to score using the classic set up?
