How to properly navigate the Ocean Current to reach the lower area

This really isn't hard to do. But I spent a very long time doing it the wrong way getting frustrated. Here is the proper way to do it.

After many times trying to do the slingshot with only one success I found that if you catch the plant and just swing yourself it's enough to get out of the current.

OK, I'm pretty certain this is BS. Trying to slingshot is waaaaaaaaay too freaking hard. Simply just grabbing the plant and swinging like Riverpatrol says clearly doesn't work for me either.

Why would I take the time to do this if it was BS? Take your trolling elsewhere if your incompetent. It shouldnt take you more than a few tries using this method. Obviously I made it there since my ship is there on the map. This is how I did it. Good luck catching the the stick without some sort of speed.

How do you think the guy above caught the plant? He had enough speed and did it exactly like I said above.

No one said it was easy to do.

And yes, you can get past the current. There is another thread talking about this EXACT method on these boards.

You guys that are having trouble, make sure your catching the stick in the right spot and you are correctly using the right analog sticks. You need to catch the end of the stick and then roll the right analog stick to rotate yourself around to the other side. You will pop right out of the current.
