im having some issues destroying hives

hey, i have had this game for a while now, havent played in almost a year, i booted it up the other day, i have done 21/ 31 missions, for some reason i cant destroy any hives, i got into tanks, no damage comes off, i hurl countless rockets at it nothing, i hurl cars at it, the health meter wont budge, and also my lock on wont stay locked on the hive, im holding down LT, sry for the ignorant post of something that should be easy. what the heck am i missing here thanks

We need more information. What mission are u doing exactly? Are you in free roam? Some missions have certain things that can't be destroyed until certain parts of the mission. Such as the part where you steal the military helicopter and help out the military until called back to base one Hive in the city can't be destroyed until you are told to.

Just go further in the storyline, I had the same problem at a given time, couldn't destroy hives or bases, but after doing some more missions, I was able to
