DLC, short life bar?

I have just played through both the DLC and for some reason even though I got all the gems in the main game I have the standard pitiful amount of health, light and dark magic limits. So I was wondering if it was normal and just meant to be an extra challenge because of the DLC short length or if something is wrong with my game, because the forgotten one on Paladin is kicking my **** with the standard health. I am sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything on the search.
