Is there a way to check how many kills?

I am working for the "War of Attrition" Achievement for Kill 1000 aliens in single player.

I have 2 questions.

1. Is there a way to check your kills?

2. Are the kills cumulative? (Over multiple playthroughs of any single player mode)

There is no way to check how many kills you have, just persevere and you will get this before you complete the game.
Also the kills are accumulative with multipl-plays aslong as you complete the level to register your kills.
