The DLC and Afro Samurai 2: What Happened?

I know that it's never been fully stated, but why haven't either of these ever seen release? In 2009 Namco-Bandai revealed they'd hired a writer for DLC episodes, and when they announced this game they'd announced they'd received the rights for "two games".

I figured the sequel would focus on "Resurrection" which itself alluded to another series/movie that never seemed to be made or talked about again. So I guess this is mostly a question but, does ANYONE know what happened to the DLC or the second game?

As of 2010 the DLC had not been discontinued and was far enough along that it had passed the scripting stages. AFRO SAMURAI 2 has yet to be announced, and all we ever had to go on was the brief reference that N-B had licensed the rights to "two games".

Any help with this would be awesome.

from what I've been able to find, Resurrection didn't do too well compared to the first so the project may have been put on the back-burner. No official word of it becoming vapor-ware so we'll see.

Personally I've given up on them producing another one now that games have progressed so much since its time... that, and Metal Gear Rising is using a very similar engine

I've been hoping desperately for longer than I'd like to admit to that this DLC will finally get released... But based on how minimal the replay value is on this game, I'll bet that a lot of people have already gone ahead and sold it, and that as a result the DLC may just be scrapped. Let's hope that if anything is going on involving Afro Samurai it'll be a sequel, maybe something involving the chapters originally meant to be included as DLC.

Afro samurai was pretty bad, but it had some fun parts in it.
I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel
