...to get the achievement for insane by not playing the chapters in the supposed order.
For instance, is it possible to start off with 'Crash Course' then switch to 'The Generator Room' finish it and beat the remaining chapters after those? Will the achievement for insane still pop or do I have to play the levels straight from start to finish? I am just curious cuz I want to get the hard parts out of the way. Never found anyone asking this, so I decided to be the one.

I would expect so, the chapter select says which difficulty's you have beaten each level on so it would make sense if you could do it this way.

the only reason you play it all the way through once is to keep your weapon / roids / holoduke so you dont start out a level on insane with just a pistol

Yeah but you still get the weapons in the map, and the worst parts are probably turret parts anyway... All the power weapons dosen't have much ammo anyway so you always have to slap, exept once you get the freeze gun using the thecnic mentioned in the other thread.
I think if anybody plan to try it on insane, they must start with the worst levels, so more they get pissed off, more they have enough, more easy it become and its less annoying. I did start from the beginning in COD4 and i got stuck for months on one part, i was so disgusted everytime i tried it that i could not touch it for monts... so cause of that i still haven't finish it yet... i started MW2 too at veteran so it explain it a little bit too(its much easier i think) but well i wanted the achievements to pop in the right order... but im still waiting to finish it... But Duke... no achievements once you finish it all, so getting the hardest part away seem the best thing to do, if you cant finish these, at least you wont have waste hours of frustration on something that sucks.

But it is MUCH easier to go through normal progression instead of CHAPTER SELECT. Most bosses are easier with the Devastator but that weapon only appears in certain levels. Same goes with other weapons or pickups found in previous missions that can limit frustration or repeated deaths. The achievement will unlock when all chapters show DAMN, I'M GOOD completed - any order they're done in. |

Yes
I played the game, chapterwise, out of order. The achievement was unlocked without any problems.

Well if you find COD veteran that easy, good for you, but me i die a lot doing it. And im not even sure i will do world at war entirely, its crazy how much nades you get on veteran...
As for the auto aim thing, yeah i guess it can help, i didn't knew that when i did the game the first time, so it may help...but still... i think its not gonna be a walk in the park
