Uhh, plot hole?

So keep in mind that I'm right at the start of the game.

The game opens with an airliner being shot down. Then there's a guy in a suit and your character in the shadows, and the suit says, "This was directly your fault" (something along those lines).

Then there's a flashback to 3 weeks ago and everyone is talking about the aircraft being shot down! They're talking about a future event--it makes no sense.

Did I miss something?

A missle shoot down that airplane, which happened because of Shaheed and Halbech.

I figured it out once I beat the game. The conversation is taking place after the jetliner is shot down and after most of the game takes place.

the missile shoot down is before anything else in the game Leland is refering to the distruction of alpha protocol not the plane

The beginning of the game happens after you getting captured from the setup, which means Halbech wouldn't be talking about AP being destroyed.
