Limited or Standard?
On Amazon.co.uk, there are still limited collectors edition of this game going for under the original standard price. (£25) Would it be worth getting the limited edition or just buying the standard for £15?

If you are at all interested in the story and characters in games, as opposed to being the sort of gamer who blasts through, skipping cut scenes left and right, then I urge you to go with the limited addition. It is worth it for the book alone. The game throws up a great many questions and the book is a key part of the canon, adding to the mysteries and questions that the fans have been speculating on since the game's release.

I don't usually care for collector's editions, but the one for Alan Wake is awesome.

I also recommend the Collector's Edition. It's not too expensive and you get great stuff.

I actually got the collectors edition, with a tin and flashlight. I still prefer that over the normal edition. I am even considering buying the limited edition with the book.

Limited
I was really looking forward to this game, and I loved it.
I got the limited of game and walkthrough both very nice. Think it gave good value for money and if you get it cheeper then all the better. Loved the packaging and the games soundtrack is one of the best in game ST ever!!! Go for it! At a slashed price all the better!!! Last edited by Deadwood GB 24; 06-30-2011 at 08:14 AM. Amazon UK currently (May 2012) have the standard, new, at £19 and change, plus about a half-dozen used, vgc Limited for the same price.
I would personally take the Limited, as it's one of the best that I own , and it's increasingly difficult to find a new condition copy now. |

the thing that got me into alan wake was the limited edition, and man, was i glad i got that. the book alone is worth the read and adds further depth to the story.

After buying the Standard Edition when it was originally released I'm now looking to buy a copy of the Limited Edition for all of the extra background material. I loved this game and am playing it all through again just for the story.

I would definitely recommend the limited over regular edition. I too got it for very cheap on Amazon and couldn't be happier with it. I may be biased because I am a huge fan of the game. :P
