Why is this game so pricey in comparison to others?

No, I'm not being cheap, but for an old game, this game is kinda pricey...Anywhere I look its $30 or so.

And don't tell me its because of achievements because nobody out there selling Avatar or old Maddens for $30.

I think theres 2 reasons, 1 ... on ebay everyone knows its an easy 1000 so it ppl know theres guys who like there achivements so they hike the price up. But some games are just quite rare so that helps.

I don't know, but I have the receipt to my copy that I bought 3 or 4 years ago and it says it was $29.99 then.

It was one of the best launch titles and was possibly discontinued a long time ago, so the only copies floating around are used copies. I imagine they didn't make too many copies either, as the 360 was only just released.

I bought mine for £10.20, with my discount. Normally, you can't pay less than £25 for it.

This. It's actually become sort of a rare game now. I haven't seen a preowned copy in over a year of trawling my local game shops.

It was a decent game at the time, but you are not missing anything by not playing it now. Chances are you will have been spoiled by much better driving games.

It's cause its the best need for speed ever and has the best sound track I would pay £25 easily plus it has very good graphics for a 2006 game

There are New Copies out there. Though they are very rare. Recently i found a few at Best Buy, when i went to buy it a few days later they were gone. If you want the game and see it at a game shop...buy it then cause its well worth it. It's probably one of the best NFS titles out there.

To get this at a decent price you really have to find it pre owned. I somehow came across a new copy for $25 last year, and even though I was getting other launch titles for <$10, I still counted my blessings. But generally there are next to no new copies around.

As stated above, its probably the best NFS Game out there and its the Version with the best Graphics, being the only Current-Gen Version around. The Achievement Factor is not so relevant i guess, the Game was/is just popular, looking at the Board here its probably the oldest Game with the biggest activity.

It's the first NFS on the current gen consoles and had a very limited shelf life after the year by year releases if newer NFS games. What with the current trend of buying and collecting rare games, this is a class rare game to own. I re-bought it last week for £18 and the game has genuinely aged well. Especially compared to dross like The Run. And with the newer most wanted due a release, a lot of people want to enjoy some nostalgia.
