i've seen the flick and in 3d (the 3d was meh). the movie was pretty cool though. so afterwards i went to best buy and made an impulse buy of the game. i haven't started it yet though, perhaps this weekend.

Seriously, this is the worst kind of rush job, shovelware crap we've all come to expect of movie game tie ins.

The graphics would have been alright on the PS2 but are dire by current gen standards. Look at the way his cape moves, it's like he's got a sheet of chipboard attached to his shoulders (look at Arkham Asylum for some awesome cape animation).

The controls are horrible and there's no fluidity in the way the character moves and he only seems to be able to move in 8 directions (N, E, S, W and halfway between each). The combat is dull and repetitive and there is no need for you to bother learning any of the combos - button mashing alone will get you through the game.

And the voice acting? Well, there's no Tony Hopkins as Odin! Unforgivable!

Seriously, there's no excuse for such sub-par games. All the characters and locations come from the comics so the developers save a heap of time at the concept / development stage. Surely that should free up some time so they can concentrate on stuff like playability, etc.

I'm so glad I rented this, I'd be raging if I'd parted with £40 for this stinker of a game!

IMO this is the worst game of 2011 so far. I respect your opinion, but I just thought it was god-awful. Maybe because i sucked at the game that didn't help. I struggled to get to vanhaheim and had to trade it in, this happens to be the only game I've traded in without completing it. The film I was considering going to watch, but i aren't really a movie guy. I dont know, it's intersting to see other peoples take on the game. They seem much different to mine.

This game is really horrible. It wasnt too bad on the easy the difficulty but once you play it on very hard or valheim or whatever the hell it is called the cheapness begins. I cant even count the number of times im a mile away from the enemies arm an the hit registers still. During this surtur battle i can take no damage in the armor part or diposing of the minions however everytime i get close to killing him for good ill get to the cut scene where u have to mash x and then it will play the stupid cut scene and it will give me like 5 or 10 seconds of non movement cause it will think im still in the cut scene and just allow me to get hit and die. I cant wait to be done with this.

It's a simple God of War clone, and resaonably entertaining, I'm about halfway now. It's certinly better than the Iron Man games.

Captain America is looking pretty good too (both movie and game.)

Rubbish, to got 1000 you need to beat it on valhalla, and that aint easy, people usually say that games are easy because they think it will make them look good gamers, FYI it makes them look knobheads.

personally i prefer the ironman games, i think they are much better than thor. as a game thor is not that bad, its got a few flaws..

for instance ive lost count of the times ive been running toward a cliff edge and pressed the jump button only to carry on running off the edge.

as a game for cheevoholics its pretty damn awful.. although all it needs to be ok is a level select.

oh and captain america is great, i loved the game and film.

LOL I thought the game was better than the movie. I didn't like the film too much. Needed a more coherent writing and direction.

a few things that had me WTF?ing: I don't think anyone in the American west was raised with childhood stories about Thor. One of Thor's multicultural buddies is Gimli (whatever that Dwarf's name is) from LotR. And the humility aspect of the flick was turning Thor into a peacenik hippie before getting his butt kicked by the robot from The Day the Earth Stood Still.

IDK, it was pretty bad. The game at least felt inspired with the various worlds like Helheim and Endor or whatever.
