Basic tips for Outland
I'm just going to bullet point most of this stuff.
1- Mark of the Gods give you more than just concept art. Eventually, it'll increase wall hang time at 16, and it'll show you where money vases are on the map around 32 of them. This is useful for buying the increasingly expensive upgrades and make progress towards the Millionaire achievement. Getting all 42 of them gives you "Sword of the Gods", and doubles all melee damage. 2- You'll have to backtrack, no matter what, to get all the Mark of the Gods and money vases. Most of the backtracking will be because of the Launchpad ability and Charged Attack ability. It doesn't take long, and you'll be able to collect vases and Mark of the Gods this way. While looking at the map, you can see how many Mark of the Gods remain in the area. 3- Slide, charged attack and uppercut are useful. Use them! On the first bipedal enemies, slide will launch them in the air, open to uppercuts. Charged attack will stun any enemy of the opposite polarity aside from the larger bipedal enemies and bosses. Some enemies can even be killed outright by charged attack. 4- Hearts stay for a long time. If you don't break them in to coins, you can always let them sit around. I personally just break them in to coins. 5- Energy comes back naturally from killing enemies, even enemies you used energy to kill. Don't be stingy with beam, shield, or smite. They make things easier and your energy will come back quickly. 6- Keep your eyes out for shoddy looking bricks, or areas where the wall doesn't meet up well (just high enough for your character to slide in). There's lots of secret areas in this game, and even a secret Jungle Area (Jungle : On The Treetops) that's hidden behind a few shoddy walls. Last edited by Auburok; 05-01-2011 at 05:42 AM. |
