If this is a great game...
Then GODDAMN this is an inauspicious start. Moving feels very jerky, aiming is a complete pain, movin while crouched seems to get me stuck on various objects, triggers for events have never felt more obvious, and aiming further feels even more inaccurate and you can barely move. Maybe I'm spoiled, but these controls are the worst I've ever felt in a shooter so far.
EDIT: 10 minutes and I can't take it anymore. I'm resorting to memorizing spawn locations (and I'm still in the cemetery!), and getting killed takes 2 bullets. Plus, what's with shooting them in the head and suddenly they stagger back to their feet 3 seconds later? This is horrible.

I feel ya, I think the controls are clunky to but I'm pretty good at getting over it/ignoring it.
I don't have the game but played the demo. |

Maybe a little late on the response but the fun kicks in right after the part at the cemetary you described, after you get darkness powers.
I remember having a little trouble with that part at the cemetary as well, but it's worth it. One of my favorite games on the xbox 360! |

I feel the same way with this game. I'm like 10 minutes past that part and so far I don't like it. I'm not going to say the game isn't worth $5 at Gamestop just yet, but its frustrating. I only bought this game to see if Darkness 2 is worth buying.

Guys keep in mind its old...
When i did it back then that was a blast for me... i tough it was awesome. I replayed it a bit lately and i couldn't believe the character can't run... cause now im use to being able to run in shooters... But that remain a very good campaign, the story is pretty cool and if your a fan of the comic like me, you should like it.

I agree that the controls feel a little clunky but otherwise it seems like a fairly well made game. I think the story telling is really solid and all of the little attentions to detail (sound, lighting, loading screens, etc.) are a nice touch to a somewhat average game. I have yet to finish the game but I am enjoying it so far and I look forward to what the Darkness 2 has to offer.

the darkness II is a smooth game and is pretty good. the only thing you need to take from the first to the second is the story. although the darkness II is a very short game. i rented it and 1000'd it in one day.

For me this game felt a bit too hard even on normal, and because the lack of the interest, I decided to quit rather than push my way to the end. Maybe in few months I'll play this through on easy and try the sequel, which seems quite interesting.

I love the hell out this, dark FPS with the most WTF death that I've seen in a videogame. The mental torture that Jackie goes through from Darkness is great (not for him). The last section your powers are so buffed out you're like a GOD! Deffo a personal favorite of mine.
